The words.

Went through all the comments from the last few days tonight and collected all the words. Reading your words + your reasons were uplifting + inspiring. Thank you for sharing. If I missed your word leave a note in the comments section and I will add it to this list.

And there is always time to choose a word if you have not done so yet.

Wisdom. In 2008 I want to look for wise people to learn from, and soak up as much of it as I can. To do this I think I will need to stay in the present and take the time to hush, look, and listen.
Thanks for the word list, Ali. Happy New Year!!

WOW. Outstanding list. I'll be sure to check out this post NEXT year for inspiration on a new word. Thanks for consolidating and posting. I need to think of a good way to document putting my word, "modernize", into action.

Scanning the list, I laughed out loud when I got to "triscadecaphobia." (I think it's supposed to be "triskaidekaphobia" - fear of the number 13.) Anyway, thanks for the laugh, whoever you are!

I see my word is already on the list, but I wanted to share it with you and why.
Finally got it...here is why...it may sound silly when you first read it and it took me a while until I read it somewhere and knew that would be my word.
So this year I am going to "SPARKLE" That's right....Sparkle. And not that I am going to walk around with body glitter ( although I do love glitter)....but I am going to be the best I can be....I am going to reach goals I set for myself...take better care of myself....get in shape....make a name for myself....I will shine and i will be happy....Sparkle.
spar·kle : to be brilliant, lively, or vivacious.
This is the definition of Sparkle that I am going to follow. there are goals I have set in the scrapbooking industry and my daily life and I want to make sure I sparkle when it comes to achieving the goals. Plus it just makes me happy when I say it!!!!
I hope that will make sense to you...but as long as it makes sense to me...It is all good. Happy New Year
    peace
    Kim

Thanks so much for all of your inspiration, Ali! You've truly made a difference in my life.

    Ali,
I am sure I am late in adding my word but I would like to if possible. My word for the year is two words but they are what I am striving for. This is the year I want to get my finances in order. So my word is "debt free" I am working with a finacial advisor and have a plan to be out from under 40+ thousand dollars worth of debt by Jan 1 2009.
Thank you for always inspiring me to try new things. I am currently doing the 365 challenge also.

I still haven't decided between two- one is on your list, but the second is not.
GRACE- I can be a sort of grab the bull by the horns, throw it to the ground, get in your face, let you know what I think kinda gal. I could benefit from some buffing around the edges. I know..
My second word is GEEK. I would love to be a geek- knowledgeable in all things technology, digital and computer oriented. I am taking a digital photo class in May; I would like to venture into digital scrapping; and maybe I could create a webpage for my business.....

My word isn't listed. INVEST. I'm not talking about money. Invest in my children by spending more quality time with them, teaching them. Invest in my marraige by connecting with my husband each day. Invest in myself by exercising and eating right.
Thanks for all the inspiration Ali!
