Stormtroopers

[ meeting storm troopers prior to marching in the Eugene Celebration parade ]

To the bus driver as he boarded yesterday morning: "Shelia! Shelia! Guess what? The earth is moving!"

To us: "I am going to have a sister and her name is Cousin Lucy."

[ And just to clarify, Lucy is the name of Simon's cousin. His sister will have a different name. He just likes her so much that he wants her to have the same name. It has become a game for him + he laughs so hard when he tells us this will be his sister's name. ]

I love your blog and appreciate your success in keeping it fresh...a wonderful combo of your personal life, photography, and training information. It's the only blog I read, and I read it every morning. I hope you can find time to continue it after Cousin Lucy arrives.

    Best post ever. :)
My nephew Thomas came up with the name for his little sister. Only they didn't know what they were having like you do. He was 3 and started telling everyone he was going to have a sister named Rebecca. He was so sure of it that they really had no choice when she was born... and we love our Becca!!!

Don't kids just say the funniest things?
Today at school, a little kindergarten boy got his lunchbox taken away because he was hitting people with it on the way to recess. Then, at recess, 10 minutes later, he was still crying about the lunchbox. He told me that his mom was going to come to the school and kick that lady because "I have a really mean mom". (I think he meant it in a nice way?)
I reminded him that it isn't nice to kick. He quickly corrected me "No, I wasn't gonna kick anyone. My mom will 'cause she is MEAN."
Gosh, it is SO HARD NOT TO LAUGH sometimes!

Well all in all "cousin Lucy" is much better than Gordon that my then 7 year picked out for his teacher who was having a baby girl. ( Jeff Gordon is his favorite Nascar driver..they share the same birthday! Aug. 4th..lol ) She was so sweet because she told him she would seriously consider it!

Good thing you can print out your blogs. I've been trying to remember to write down things like that. When I was pregnant with my last baby, my then 5 year old was convinced that it was a girl and her name was Hailey. You should have seen his face at the hospital when he found out it was a boy (we didn't find out before giving birth). This time (I'm due NOv. 6) he and his brothers want it to be a boy and he thinks it should be named Elliot or Luke (Skywalker). We don't know what this one is either, so hopefully he won't be disappointed if it is a girl or as a boy it is not Elliot or Luke!

I bet it was a thrill for Simon to meet the Storm Troopers up close. How awesome! Lucy is a nice name, just don't want Simon to get his cousin and sister mixed up.
