Three Things : Creative Books (+ a giveaway)

Hi Ali,
My favorite right now is lots of paper and Mod podge. I also like adding all kinds of found treasures to the mix for texture. My Dad was a keeper of everything(He kept the tickets for Disney when each ride required a ticket in the 70's so I use alot of that in my work. Thanks for the inspiration.

As a fairly new convert to the scrap booking industry, I love to bring the process of my other art interests into my page layouts.
A designer by trade, I have always loved the look of hand done printing techniques. I create my own stamps out of linoleum blocks and use old lead type I find in antique stores.
By the way, I found your site through Whip Up, and I love your insights! This is one of my favorite new blogs to follow.

It is so hard to pick out a FAVORITE technique. I would have to say that I love to make unique home decor items with paper/scrapbook world supplies. I am a huge lover of all things distressed (except on my scrapbook pages / mini books which tend to be very linear in style.
Tim Holtz's products are my faves - alcohol inks, crackle paint, distress inks & powders - ALL OF IT :) He takes all the work out of it for you and makes it super simple to create amazing distressed looking items.
I just recently took a wide glass vase and masked it off with vertical stripes and alcohol inked the exposed glass. I love the way it came out and can't wait to see how the light is going to reflect with the blue and green colors of the alcohol inks.

My latest techniques is to use inks and stamps directly on my photos. And I used Post-it to write my journaling on my last mini-album.

These look fabulous! I think I'm especially going to have to look into the Acrylic Revolution.
My favorite technique lately is doing mixed media art work for my walls. I love combining paint and modeling paste, images printed on tissue paper, paper piecings made out of paper, fabric, ribbons and jewels to create animals... So much fun!

My fave technique right now is playing with watercolor and wet tissue paper - making the colors run just a bit when wet, melding it into the picture.
Of course this is done while painting with my 3 year old and just for fun, but I think would look smashing on the front of a travel journal, combined with other elements.
Would love this book (hint hint - today is my birthday!)

My favorite technique right now is adding digital elements to my scrapbook pages and photos. Text, borders, altering photos...that would have to be my favorite creative technique that I am embracing at this moment.

i'm on a major rub on kick right now!
but not just for scrapbooking.
i jazzed up my bathroom light switch.
i'm decorating small plates with simple rub ons for candle plates + gifts.
all of those books look incredible.

Hmmm. my favourite technique is still distressing with ink. I use it all the time :)

I am in the middle of moving, so my creative techniqe lately has been organizing. We have back to school, trying to get everything cleaned out (you know, going through all the stuff that I can't believe we are hanging on ot) and packing. It has been pretty crazy at our house.

These new books look fabulous! Would love to win! As I am a digital scrapper (haven't done paper in 3 years - though itching to try it again) my favorite technique is probably using Blending Modes to really change the look of the papers/photos - so many unique looks at just the click of a button!

I'm all about scrap/art journaling. My 'style' of late is a hodge podge of favorite techniques (doodling, stamping, ink, paint, tape, sticker words/letters, rub-ons, labels) and getting the stories (I never run out :),) pictures (much fewer than I'd like!) and creative bits all in one place--be it a layout or minibook or one of my (too many!) journals.

I am so inspired by color right now. By favorite technique is to just lay down lots of color - be it with colored pencils, paint, markers, or bits of paper, and then I just see where the colors take me.

These days my blog is my ONLY "technique". But I'm capturing memories with it, so it counts :) Hopefully one of these days I'll get back to scrapbooking, and I hope to do some painting as well.

My favorite technique right now is using grungeboard and inking everything.

I'm a digi girl...so techniques are computer related...but I'm loving acrylic elements. I love putting bits and pieces underneath...paint, words, lace, etc.

I just recently learned to sew and have been doing lots of it. I still love scrapbooking and telling my stories--just have a new love as well!

Lately I have been putting stitches on everything! I love just busting out the sewing machine for my pages. It adds such great texture.

I recently took an acrylic album class and loved stamping on the acrylic with Stazon stamp pads. I used to stamp quite a bit, but got out of the habit -- to much stuff to get out, along with my scrapbook stuff --but now am hoping to get back into stamping a little more on my scrapbook pages and doing another couple of acrylic albums with Christmas themes for my mother and mother in law. My favorite technique is using old photos....tintypes, cabinet cards, copying them, cutting them, adding fancy hats and accessories, giving new personalities to my adopted relatives.

My favorite creative technique right now is setting up a project/layout in PhotoShop (with photos and sketches) and then printing them out and re-creating it in paper/traditional scrapping. :)
Saves me lots of time when figuring out what's going to fit. :) My pictures are always the exact size I need them to be. Yay! :)
