Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)

Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

I'm sad to say we don't quite have any traditions yet. I DO love getting wonderful ideas from your blog and others to incorporate when my daughter is old enough. So much beautiful inspiration out there in blog-land.

I make two valentines cards, one for me to give to my husband and the other for him to give to me! I usually make a minibook with photos from our past, he usually buys me some flowers and we usually get a takeaway in (no need for babysitters!). As this year it falls on a saturday we might even be able to go out for dinner!

Valentine's traditions.....well, before my husband and I had kids we would go out for a special dinner! lol
Now things are a bit different, but just as much fun! I usually tuck a love note to the kids in their school bags or lunch boxes if they have school.
When they come home from school, we make a huge chocolate chip heart cookie to have as dessert on the special day!
The kids have also made cards for us as well...which I absolutely treasure!
Sometimes we also surprise them with a treat such as candy or a new stuffed 'buddy'.
    Thanks for the awesome drawing!

We have "Sweet Treat" morning at school on Valentine's Day. As a family we go and have donuts and other goodies. It's a fun way to start the day!
Thanks for all the links to products & etsy sites. Love all the V-day ideas!

We have the same dinner every year and my kids LOVE it and look forward to it. We eat by candlelight and use our nice crystal glasses. We START with strawberry soup (which is delicious...and much more like dessert). Then a salad. Then homemade chicken parmesan with angel hair pasta. And we wrap it up with a new dessert every year. It's fun to be together as a family (too hard to get a sitter!) and we all LOVE traditions!

I love Valentine's Day. I like to make a card for my husband. We usually have a candlelit dinner in front of the fireplace.
He gives me chocolate! (which he doesn't like). This year I am thinking of sending some Valentine atcs to my art friends. I'm not usually a "pink" person, but this day is the exception!

Normally my husband and I go to dinner and exchange small gifts. This year it's going to be extra special because this will be our last year as a family of two - we're expecting :-)
    XO,
    Leslie

I write notes for the boys and tuck them in their lunch box/binder. My husband and I celebrate 5 days later on our anniversary.

We have always loved Valentines Day however a couple of years ago my husband's dad died on that day. So we use it as a day to celebrate our love for one another and to remember the love for one of my greatest friends...my father-in-law.
    Hugs,
    DeAnne B.

I don't know that I would call it a tradition, but I always make gifts for all of my single friends. When I was single it always made my day to know that someone though of me, so now I try to pass that along (of course I don't say "because your single I made you this...). :)

Well for us is a mixture , because to us Valentine is on June, because back in the countries we were born is June 14th but we always talk about and do something in February, but maybe this will change when baby comes.

My husband and I don't really do a whole lot for Valentine's Day. My son is only 6 months, but as he gets older, I would like to make Valentine's Day special with special meals and a small gift. Can't wait to read through these comments to get some ideas.

In past years I would have to rely on my husband to set up our Valentines gifts to our daughter before we got home that night from work/preschool. This year she's in Kindergarden and I pick her up from school and I haven't decided if I'm going to put her little gifts on her car seat to find as we get into the car or on her bed to find when she gets home. Probably the car - she LOVES getting surprises in the car. Like when she has a really good week at school (we've had some adjustment weeks) I'll put a small gift on her seat to find on Friday as we get into the car after school. My favorite part of the holiday is picking out valentines with her and helping her fill them out.

Valentine's is the only holiday that I do roll out cookies. I use a spiced cookie recipe that is great for kids....just enough spices to add some flavor, but not enough to make it not taste like a sugar cookie :)

Since we have had three boys in less than five years, we don't do extra stuff anymore ... so no Valentine's traditions yet... but my oldest is now in school, so we may have to start. Back before kids, hubby used to give me chocolates ... but I have to ban that now (my waist can't take it!) Would love to win any of the prizes! Thanks for the give aways.

I like to make Valentines with my son to give to his friends as well as some kind of heart shaped treat. Other than a handmade card, I don't really celebrate with my husband because I don't like the idea of getting something only because it is Valentines day...last year a month or so after Valentines day he unexpectedly brought home roses and chocolates and I was thrilled with the surprise.

Wow....my father in law also died on Valentine's Day last year so I know it will be hard to celebrate this year. I love to get red tulips and make cupcakes with pink frosting.

My husband and I have a tradition of not buying each other anything more than $20 and we make each other cards...and sometimes we eat dinner out, but mostly we just stay home.

No chocolate in our house lol...the little man has a peanut allergy so we never got into giving chocolates... but I get my son a little something and make him a special valentine... my sweetie and I don't exchange gifts but we try and do something special just the two of us around valentines.
