Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

This is my first Valentine's Day to be married, so my husband and I are trying to plan a romantic getaway. :) We always exchange cards and sweets - he's not much of a chocolate man so I have to be creative. My mom always sends a heart-shaped box of Russell Stover candy. I love opening the package and seeing that - those same boxes were always waiting at the breakfast table when I was a kid.

My family celebrates Valentine's Day with dinner at home and a "surprise" knock at the front door to reveal a small gift for each family member. (Our children have always wondered how a "knock" at the front door can happen because Mom and Dad are most always in plain sight!)

We usually try to get the family together and just spend an evening together eating pizza and watching movies. Our daughter in law's birtday is the 16th, so we usually celebrate the birthday as well. our grandson is 2, so we will probably try to throw some treats in for him as well. Thanks for sharing so much of you and your family with us.

This is going to be my first V-day as a married couple. The past 2 V-days I've made something crafty. Hubby actually told me he loved me on our first v-day (2007) and we spent the day in Malibu. Then the next v-day (2008) my hubby surprised me with an over night getaway in Cambria, CA and asked me to marry him. This year, we've had a lot going on, moved, new job, bought a home etc so we will probably spend a romantic evening at home. Maybe get some take-out. That if hubby is not on a business trip.

Hubby and I do something special, usually rent a movie, order in, and snuggle on the couch all night.

I am an office manager with an office of about 10 women and I know what it feels like to have Valentines come and go with no acknowledgement so I make sure each lady has one rose on their desk with a little plush toy that says Happy Valentines Day or maybe a little Valentines box of chocolates from Russel Stover that has about 6 peices of candy in it. They adore it and it makes for a really nice day.

    Great give-aways!!
We are kind of low key with our Valentine celebration but this year may be different because our 3 year old granddaughter is really into holidays now.
The most fun thing that has happened the last few years is that my husband goes into my scrapbook space and makes me a card. They are very creative! The funniest was the first one when he stamped a red heart on the front of the card and he said he was a nervous wreck from trying to open the stamp pad (SU) and clean the stamp.
    Thanks for sharing the goodies!

We usually celebrate with dinner out on a different night, as restaurants too crowded on the actual day. Or, a nice quiet special dinner at home, sentimental cards, and maybe go out for dessert. (Tiramisu. THE reason to go to Olive Garden. Ha! Ha!)

We always start the day out with heart shaped muffins. We usually have heart shaped pizza for dinner--we each make our own little heart shaped pizza and top it how we like :) The kids love getting to be chefs. This year we added something new--you know those adorable mini tin mailboxes in the $ spot in Target? We bought one for each of us in the family and decorated them. We have them in a central location in the house and are randomly putting in love notes for each other. It is a great way to encourage sharing your feelings, writing letters and we are all having so much fun!

My mom does a treasure hunt of sorts, hiding all of the presents in their own spots with their own clues written on valentines. The kids are simple, but the adults are pretty hard. As for our own family traditions we don't do much. My husband usually picks something special out for our daughters and they love it.

We celebrate Valentines Day every year with a "tea" luncheon and then open up our valentines from our friends and family (we homeschool). My kids always decorate boxes to put their cards in and we make special treats to go along with our "tea". It is a very special memory for the entire family and of course I take pictures every year!
Thinking of your family as you all prepare for the new little one.. what a wonderful year of blessings this will be!

My husband and I go to dinner and movie. A nice simple date night. Now that my boys are getting older..I am thinking about doing something for them this Valentine's Day. Perhaps a cute mailbox with special treats inside!

We are not big on Valentine's Day, but we always make cards for the family and give our son a bag full of goodies - candy and small toys. We will also be cutting out lots of hearts to string on the windows of our morning room.

I always try to make a nice dinner for my husband on Valentine's Day. I say TRY because I am a horrible cook. One year my husband called my main dish "rock chops" because the pork chops I made were like little boulders on a plate. Wish me luck for this year :-)

These are the ways I love my family on Valentine's Day: a homemade card+letter telling them how special they are. Favorite dinner. Special treat in their lunch bag. Chocolates on their dinner plate. My husband and I usually have a "dinner for 2" by the fire sometime during that week to celebrate our marriage and love for each other.

Our first child was born on Valentine's Day. We decorate a lot for the holiday. Each morning all of the kids get a little gift from us. We have heart shaped pancakes. We make a big deal about celebrating Valentine's Day in the morning, and then we spend the afternoon celebrating our daughter's birthday. I usually make heart shaped rice krispie treats too with fruity pebbles so they are pink and purple. It has been fun to take them to school. It is just a fun, fun day!

We have heart shaped pizza and wine and the kids have sparkling cider in wine glasses with us! Then as is a part of every dinner time, we ask our normal questions of one another:
    1. What went good for you today?
    2. What went not so good?
    but then we add:
    3. Share three things that you LOVE.

My husband and I met and began dating at that time of the year so it's a special time. We always go out together and he always sends me red roses. My mom always gave us valentine's chocolates and cards, so I do the same for my kids...we celebrate love in all it's forms.

We usually make crafts with the kids, have a wonderful bbq supper-steak, escarcots and a nice bottle of wine.
Lots of cheers around the table - the kiddies love it.

My kids are all teenagers now, but I still give them a card and a little treat. We also have a special dinner with candles and fully decorated table, and of course, a chocolate dessert! My husband and I go out alone sometime near the date.
