Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)

Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

don't really celebrate much. my husband is a firm believer that Valentine's Day is just a very commercialized day and... I tend to agree. We exchange cards, and we might go out to dinner, but if we decide to go on another day, that's just as well.
I work in an elementary school, so I do enjoy seeing the kids exchanging valentines and all the white-pink-red construction paper products all over. :)

I like to switch things up; I rarely do the exact same thing from one year to the next. This year, I'm planning some special Valentine meals, a love letter to my husband, and a homemade valentines and related crafts week with my kiddos. Ooooh, I love this holiday :)

    Hi Ali!
We make heart-shaped shortbread cookies that we dip in dark chocolate and sprinkles...we pack them in individual plastic bags and make a pretty tag. Then each of us give them away to whomever...and feel so good inside to have baked something yummy together and with lots of giggle and love!

What awesome goodies! Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. That's the one day of the year that I get something handmade by my honey.

Usually we celebrate as a family with a nice dinner, paper hearts decorating the table & candle light. We also do sparkeling grape juice in fancy (plastic) wine glasses. The kids get a kick out of the fancy atmosphere.

I love Valentine's Day! We may not do anything too extravagant, but we all feel loved, that is what matters. I always make my hubby a Valentine's cake and my son and I make Valentine's and fun crafts. He will be at school this year...sigh...will need to come up with something different for him this year. Even our fur baby gets an extra dose of loving by getting a new toy! :)

In year's past I have always bought somethin for my son and husband. This is my son's first year in school so I am thinking of putting cute love notes in his lunchbox this year. Since it is on Saturday this year we might have to have a special heart shaped pancake breakfast!

My special Valentines celebration is spending the evening with my Mom. This year I am taking her to see the traveling production of Wicked (cheap seats way at the top, but we are both elated to be going!)

I teach kindergarten so that's always a fun day in class with their excitement over their little cards and decorated cookies.
At home I always make a special dinner for the four of us and have a little gift at everyone's plate...such a fun day to ward off the mid-winter blahs.

I send funny Valentine's Day cards to my friends. Even though we're all adults, it's still fun to receive something other than bills in the mail. My husband and I avoid going out to eat because every where is too crowded. Instead, we make a nice dinner at home.

We used to go out for a fancy dinner but we stopped doing that after aour second dd was born. Now we just stay home and have a quiet dinner and a home made cake, Thanks for the giveaway.

My hubby usually gives me flowers and candy, or a little stuffed animal with a box of candy. One year, he had purple roses sent to me at work (purple is my fave color) along with a little purple bear. He's just so sweet! I usually make him his favorite dinner and make some kind of special dessert.

I usually make some kind of special dessert for us to enjoy as a family. And my daughters and I do a heat-themed craft project to send to their grandparents. What's important is that we spend time together :)

My husband and I usually go out to dinner. This will be our son's second Valentine's day, but he was only a month old last year, so I'm looking forward to starting some new traditions for him.

That is also my anniversary so we usually go out to eat and then he usually surprises me with a trip to a pulloff on the parkway or somewhere romantic. Thanks for the cool giveaway and I hope you are still doing well.

    Wow what fun products!
This is only our 2nd V-day for a tradition--but last year DH surprised me and our 2 little girls with our own pkg. of Godiva (my fave). And he wrote a personal note to each of us, his "princesses"! I loved that! Hopefully he'll do something like that again!

Valentines Day at our house is not just for the grown-ups. I usually sneak something special into the kids backpacks so they find a treat when they are in school. I fill out traditional "kids" valentines and place them at each setting on the dinner table and we celebrate by have a nice "romantic" candlelit dinner as a family complete with steak and lobster and an over the top dessert. I love to splurge and try new recipies that you think would only be found in a fancy restaurant.

Valentines Day means a heart shaped box of chocolates. I miss the days when I was a preschool teacher with all the covered shoeboxes full of Valentines the children exchanged.

How do I celebrate Valentine's Day? Well, pretty much the traditional way. My husband and I have tried to go out to dinner every year and exchange cards. I give him something hand-made and he picks out a great store-bought one. He really finds the most amazing cards. I don't know how he does it. He also writes a long personal note in the card. Almost makes me cry every time :)
Before we met I didn't celebrate Valentine's Day at all - no sweetheart :) I did enjoy wearing red or pink for a reason and I loved the 50% off chocolate the day after!

My hubby and I make homemade cards for each other. He is the one who started this idea actually. It gets harder each year to top what we had the previous years.
