My favorite summertime memory is of being able to run free around the neighborhood after dinner every night. My brothers and i would play with all the neighborhood kids and wait we until we heard my mom calling, letting us know it was time to go home. Those were the days!!!

I loved summer days as a kid. We would spend as much time outside as possible, usually going in only for lunch and dinner. Sometimes we got to swim at the neighbors dock, but most of the time we'd just ride our bikes around, and we spent a lot of time running around in the woods. It was all so carefree.

    Love Elle's Studio!
My favorite childhood summertime memory is Sunday afternoons when all my Dad's family would gather under the huge weeping willow tree and eat ice cold watermelon that my Papaw grew in his garden. There was a swing that he made using steel beams for the frame and a huge, thick plank for the swing suspended on heavy chains. It would hold a bunch of kids- and adults too- and we would swing all afternoon waiting for the moment that big melon was cut!

We didn't ever do anything big each summer... but the best part was the days never seemed to end. We would get up and go outside and play ALL day. We didn't even have to go in the house for lunch - my mom would get sandwiches and drinks ready and we would eat out on the back porch with her... then go right back to playing..
I remember being excited and upset all at the same time in the evenings... I LOVED running after those lightning bugs but that always meant it was finally time for the day to come to an end!

All my favorite Summer memories involve sailing with my family!!! Best of all...when we would set sail to Toronto for the weekend. We'd leave on Friday, late afternoon and not get in until close to midnight! It was amazing to watch the city get bigger and bigger as we got closer! And to see the city light up like a Christmas tree in front of our eyes, was pure magic!!....sigh....those were the days!

    Favorite summertime childhood memory:
I enjoyed my family's road trips. Although well planned out, my parents had a spontaneous streak and would change plans on the fly. That was always so FUN!

I have lots, but the one that came to mind first, My family used to go to Long Beach Island in NJ every Summer for vacation with two other families from our neighborhood. Well one day, myself and one kid from each of the other families, the three of us were about 9, 10 and 11, told our families we were going to ride our bikes to the deli about 2 blocks away for lunch. We were told it was okay. So we went to the deli, ate lunch there, and started back. When we got to the end of the street we were staying on, the 9 year old decided he was going back to the house, and the 10 year old and I decided to keep riding. So we rode into the town. We lost track of time, having a great time with our new found independence, we had some spending money so we went into the stores and were having so much fun! Well about two hours later our mothers came looking for us and found us in front of a pharmacy, I still remember exactly where we were, and we got pulled into the car, the bikes were thrown in the back and we proceeded to be screamed at for about 3 hours! We learned then we were not quite old enough for freedom. lol So I guess the favorite Summer memory part was before we got caught. :)

A cherished summertime memory for me is riding in the back of our pick up truck (sometimes in lawn chairs, gasp!) with neighbors to the local creamy whip.
I'd love any of it but especially the digi stuff :)

My favorite childhood summertime memories center mostly around the pool and road tripping. Many a summer evening was spent at swim meets, followed by ice cream at Mary Coyles. We also took tons of road trip vacations, of which I have fond memories.

My favorite summertime memories come from swimming with my family. I loved it when my dad would throw us up, and we'd make a big splash. Now I appreciate how much work that was!

My favorite memory of being a child, was when we would go stay with my Grandma. She is the most amazing person I have ever known, to this day. We would go swim in her pool late at night, run through the sprinklers, eat oreos for breakfast, and be pampered with Grandma hugs and kisses!

My favorite summer memory is going to my grandpa's cabin in the woods. There was a pond where we would fish, swim, boat, and swim with all of our cousins. Some of my happiest memories are of that place in the woods.

definitely having all the neighborhood in your front yard running through the sprinkler to cool off. I can still hear the squeals of delight from all of us enjoying such a simple thing.

It's a very simple one....I can remember running through a sprinkler nearly every day. Screeching like a girl, having a blast with the neighbors...oh to be young again!

My favorite summertime childhood memory is sitting outside with my neighbor friend, in our cool little summer pj's and playing or talking until it was time to go in. I remember how exciting it was to be able to stay up way later because there was no school in the morning.

My favorite summer memory is playing all day at the beach until your body was exhausted, then coming home to crash in bed for a bit and having mom wake me up for dinner.
