My favorite memories from childhood are of going to the sand dunes on the coast of Lake Michigan with my family.

My family used to always go from SC to OH to visit my aunt every summer. My brother, sister, and I had to crowd three-across in the backseat for 10 hours to get there, but we had such fun and always looked forward to that trip!

We woke up every Saturday morning to get in the pool with all of my parent's friends and their kids. We swam from daylight to dark each week. They don't make Saturdays like that anymore.

My happiest memories are when my friends and I would explore the wooded areas around our neighborhood and catch Horny Toads, make club houses, have talent shows and our own rock concerts on our street. Those were the days!

It was camping with my Mom and Dad and brother at Whitby Island in Washington state. we had a tent trailer that we loaded up and we always went with the same family friends that had 2 girls the same age as me and my brother...Whitby island has fantastic sand dunes!

Swimming all day, everyday even if it meant asking total strangers to say they were our chaperones (community pool).

Oh, one of my favorite memories is catching lightning bugs in a mason jar and then sneaking them into my bedroom closet. That was my secret reading room and I always hoped I would catch enough to read by. That never happened but I never stopped hoping.

I remember it clearly. We were in Tahoe, my sister, brother & I. It was a clear morning, warm & sunny. By the afternoon, the clouds rolled in, but it was still warm. Within a half hour the sky was dark and the fat drops were pouring down, creating the best puddles outside our rented condo. We ran outside in our play clothes and did a russian happy dance in the rain. Totally getting soaked, but enjoying every minute of it. To this day, the smell of wet cement reminds me of that afternoon and the simple pleasure of family & rain.

Hi Ali---My favorite summertime memory has got to be just being outside from first thing in the morning until the street lights came on at night, the sun on my shoulders, no worries, just my friends, our bikes and the outdoors. Those were the days :)

My favorite summertime memory is climbing out to the roof of my grandma's home, picking mangoes from the tree that was within reach, eating them and just exchanging stories with my cousin.

My favorite childhood memory? Sadly I don't remember much....however I do remember a bent old tree that I thought was magical...I thought fairies lived in it. I built a fairy house. One night I put some food in the fairy house and the next day it was gone! I was so positive that there were fairies there. Still do think they exist. :)

So many summer memories - playing with my favorite cousin, trying 2 of my favorite foods (fried squash and chocolate chip pancakes) for the first time, exploring in my grandparents' attics, catching lightning bugs, climbing trees, going to the country club, working jigsaw puzzles with my great-grandmother, trips to Opryland in Nashville, ... Read MoreLibertyland in Memphis, Navarre Beach, FL. What these memories all had in common were my annual summer trips from Alabama to visit my 2 sets of grandparents in Tennessee. I was lucky enough to usually spend a month with them. I lost both of my grandfathers while I was in college, and both of my grandmothers passed away at the beginning of this year, 13 days apart. What I would give to relive one day of my childhood summers with them!

It's gotta be playing in the sprinkler with my brothers. It gets REALLY HOT in Houston and even the water in the sprinkler was hot, but we didn't care ... it was just the shrieking and running back and forth through the water that was a treat. Do they still make those sprinklers that turn in circles? Those were the best!

My favorite summer time memory is our family vacation to visit my uncle and aunt in Minnesota when i was in sixth grade. I remember sketching the whole way out. When we got there we met our baby cousin, i learned how to ride a horse, feed st. bernards, and hold a baby.
