Here's a little bit about SewCute Shop and Brandy's mission to do something really good for another family:
I started sewing sometime last year and fell in love. My grandmother (Nana) taught me the basics of pinning patterns, hemming, and seams. After being taught those skills I have really been a self-taught seamstress. I have a true love for putting the most trendy fabrics together and making 'SewCute' items. The items I place in SewCute Shop are my favorites and I am very happy to make them for you.
In March 2009 my best friend's little boy was suddenly diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) - a degenerative brain disease. The movie 'Lorenzo's Oil was made to bring awareness to this newly discovered disease. In early April, Joel, Teresa and Riley Greene aka TEAMGREENE were moved from Chattanooga, TN to Durham, NC where Riley would spend what they thought 100 days after receiving a bone marrow transplant. Due to complications, this week marks 133 TEAMGREENE has been in Duke Hospital.
I made a pledge to donate all proceeds from SewCute Shop to TEAMGREENE until they returned home in Chattanooga. For me sewing has become much more than just a hobby it has been a small part of what allows my best friend to stay by her son's side. For more information on TEAMGREENE visit www.carepages.com/carepages/teamgreene and create a username/password.
When I'm not sewing away I enjoy spending time with my fabulous husband, Ty and two children Autumn (9) and Tyler (2).
I had Brandy make one of these for Anna (see above) and one of these for me (love wearing it over my jeans) and they are awesome.

Beautiful-
I love many charities and volunteer for many of them. The one tugging on my heartstrings now is Philip Cameron Ministries. They build and maintain houses in Moldova (Europe) to rescue orphaned teenagers who are turned out into the streets at sixteen years old into the hands of human trafficers. Moldova is the primary European source for human trafficing victims. These girls are offered a safe place to stay and are giving education to help them finish school in addition to vocational training.

I have many charitable orgs that I give to but the one that means the most to me is CADS Alberta, Canadian Assoc for Disabled Skiing. My brother was diagnosed and treated for a brain tumour, after surgery he had to relearn everything and this association was so beneficial to his recovery, so much that he became an instructor! Unfortunately he lost his fight, but the organization still means so much to me!

Thanks for sharing this cool organization! As a brain tumor survivor, I still love the American Brain Tumor Association. A few years ago, I held an event, "Crop, Shop, and Don't Drop" to raise money for those like me, fighting brain tumors and all proceeds went to ABTA.
Thanks again for sharing the SewCuteShop with me!

We support a local charity called Haven on Earth Animal League. It's a no-kill shelter/foster home organization for cats and dogs. Our sweet kitten, Harry Potter, was adopted from them and we couldn't be happier!

there are so many worthy causes out there - my last donation went to the Lymphoma Society. I also support our local Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.
What a cute find, and how cool that someone found something they enjoy and are good at to do such good. :)

The only charity I donate to regularly is our local fire department.....they lost a lot of funds with the economy and I feel they need as much help as they can get.
Brandy sounds like a true angel and TEAMGREENE is lucky to have her on their side!

I love Brandy's work! That top is amazingly cute. Definitley wouldn't mind adding that to my wardrobe! =)
As to favorite charity, I don't know. It would have to be something to help kids. I hate to see kids suffering, either emotionally or physically. Any suggestions? =)

It's very touching to read everyone's favorite charities. There are so many wonderful ways all of you are helping.
My charity would have to be the American Cancer Society. After watching my fathers deterioration as he fought his battle with cancer, twice, I support this charity and hope no one has to face that devastation.
Peace

the group I donate to whenever I can is Ratbone Rescues... I adopted both of my puppies from there. They rescue lots of sweet doggies from shelters and puppy mills and take care of them until they can find their forever homes. :)

Wow, what a selfless act, Brandy! Kudos to you for giving of your time and talents to such a worthy cause. Your creations are absolutely beautiful! :-)
As for my favorite charity, I nominate World Vision (www.worldvision.org). They allow people like me to sponsor a child in a third-world country, providing them with food, water, shelter, clothing, and an education.

My mother-in-law Shirley Behnsch passed from breast cancer, so I'm a huge fan of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation both based here in Texas. The work they do is amazing and blessed for all who will survive.
