If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.

Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:

Hello zig zag!

I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.

Here's a look at my process:

I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.

I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.

I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.

Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.

And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.

"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.

For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.

Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

The festivities start at 5 on Christmas Eve. We make all sorts of hors d'oeuvres to snack on throughout the evening and sip on spiced cider. We watch in our Christmas pjs "Its a Wonderful Life" followed by Allister Sim in "A Christmas Carol". Although we have watched these movies each Christmas, there is something so "family" for us to have this tradition and just be together. Merry Christmas.

Lovely page and the way you used the zig zag is so creative. Definitely a must have in my book. My favorite Christmas tradition is painting wooden ornaments with the kids...we pick them out at craft stores and set aside 2 days to paint, paint, paint :)

Your Anna is a darling, and so is your layout - love the new stamps!

My favorite Christmas tradition is decorating the tree. After 40 years of marriage, we have LOTS of ornaments, and each one has a memory attached to it, so it sometimes takes days to get them all up. I put on some Christmas music and make it an event.

We also have a nativity scene that I made in a ceramics class years and years ago. My Dad made the stable. I like to put everything out ahead of Christmas except for Baby Jesus. He arrives on Christmas morning......

My favorite Christmas tradition is the ornament exchange my husband and I have every year. Since we were dating, we always buy each other an ornament. It's fun to see what we come up with each year.

My favorite Christmas tradition is Christmas Eve with the family. No gifts, just good food, great Christmas music and wonderful company. It's a relaxing evening full of remembering, teasing, and shaking the presents to see if we can guess what's inside. Christmas day is always so busy, but the relaxing nature of Christmas Eve with my family is the best of Christmas traditions for me.

Ali--I love how you used a bold pattern in the soft ink colors to create such an interestingly subdued background! Great page idea!

My favorite holiday tradition is listening to Dickens' "Christmas Carol" read by Patrick Stewart on Christmas Eve before we open our gifts.

I love using stamps on my layouts but I've never done a whole background. Great way to customize the whole page! My favourite tradition is a pre Christmas brunch with family we won't see Christmas morning to swap gifts, but we don't get to open till Christmas morning! ;)

I love background stamps. My favorite tradition is watching the Disney Christmas parade Christmas morning with my family. Although I'm grown, we still go to my parents xmas morning (santa lets gifts for the kids there as well), have breakfast, open gifts then watch the parade.

My favorite holiday tradition is watching the movie Oliver on Christmas Eve with my family. We all get into our pajamas, put out a plate with a giant cheese ball and crackers and other little snacks. We always get up and sing and dance along with the movie. It's so much fun!

What a wonderful page. Love the way you used the stamp in different colors to make your background. And it is amazing that your washi tape picked up the pattern. At first look I thought you had stamped on color cardstock and trimmed out the strip of arrows. Even more amazing are the memories and love that you have captured here. Wonderful!
