Spark Your Story | Scrapbook & Cards Today Fall 2016
The new fall issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine is now available!
This year my column includes a traditional layout and a Project Life® spread and a digital download (click here to see all the free downloads from this issue) centered around a story spark.
Today I'm sharing the full images of my layouts from this article here but invite you to click over and download your own FREE digital copy of the magazine and read the full article that includes much more about the concept and ideas related to each layout. You can also become a subscriber and have it delivered to your home address (awesome) or pick it up at Barnes & Noble. They have even set it up where you can download just a PDF of my article: Spark Your Story.
Here's a look at the pages I created for this issue with a focus on food (which is also slated to be a future Story Theme).
First up, a Project Life® spread that tells the story of some of the recent updates to the story of Simon + Food:
PL2015 | WK33 | SUPPLIES
- Project Life® Design A Page Protectors
- Freckled Fawn puffy stars and labels
- Journal cards from past Story Kits™ and Studio Calico
This is a non-weekly layout and it will go into my traditional album for 2016.
And my layout:
GOOD FOOD | SUPPLIES
- Messy Food Circles (the three shown on this layout are available as a free download from the SCT site or you can purchase the full package here)
- Freckled Fawn Wood Veneer Starbursts
- Studio Calico Chipboard Words
- Gold Starbursts from my Believe Story Kit™
I love SCT, and I super love your articles. I love the commitment you all share to memory keeping. And your layouts are cool. Thanks for sharing. Michelle t

Hi, just an FYI one of the links above references the incorrect file
The link at the end of this sentence "...where you can download just a PDF of my article: Spark Your Story."
points to the summer article and download location.
Love all this content in a FREE publication, thank you for contributing your time and effort to this.
Fiona
Thanks for letting me know! I fixed that link.

Hi Ali, thanks for sharing these great layouts. I especially love the ProjectLife-style one. How did you write 'Simon & food' on the title card? Did you use rubons or stamps? I like the font :)
Carolin
Those are from a stamp set - it's a small one I picked up from Target a few years ago.

Love these pages, can't wait to see the full article! Just like fionahatfield said, the link is to the summer article (I'm going to try to find the correct link on my own, but otherwise I'll check back here later). Also...not to pretend to know your products better than you...but I believe the gold starbursts in the second layout are actually from "believe", the ones in "first" were silver and had words on them instead of icons.
Hmmm - I edited the link above before you posted. Not sure why that would't now be going to the correct spot: http://www.scrapbookandcards.com/fall-2016-spark-your-story (And you are right about the starbursts!)
The link works now, I must've just not refreshed my browser and had the old link. And I may or may not have every single story kit ever... I love those starbursts! (And word phrase stickers, always say yes to more word phrase stickers!!)
Thanks so much for your support <3.

Ali, love these layouts and I LOVE the food-themed messy circles, since food is a BIG theme in my house! On the second layout, what kind of paper did you print the messy circles onto? The black looks so dense, is it photo paper? Thanks for sharing with us!
Photo paper :)

I also love the Messy Food Circles and would love to see them in a physical stamp set. Any chance?

I am so happy to hear you will be doing Food type stamps. In the last 2 weeks I have searched my supplies for such stamps only to come up empty and yet I could have sworn I had some, which explains why I keep looking. Super excited about this future story theme!!
