Week In The Life™ 2020 | Tuesday Words + Photos

Welcome to my Tuesday words + photos for Week In The Life™ 2020

A few thoughts about today:

  • I am really appreciating the directed journaling prompts this time around. It's given me just enough structure along with enough freedom to capture what our life looks like right now.
  • Today was a very quiet, stormy day and it's reflected in my images. Basically I was either at my desk working or in my bed reading. Sometimes that's just how it goes and my goal with this project is to capture what is real.
  • Something I've been working on over the last few years which comes up with this project specifically is letting the dark be dark and the light be light and not trying to make every image light and bright. I'm having fun experimenting with my DSLR and adjusting the settings to learn more. I really love that the two shots at my desk today (one around 6:30am and the other mid-morning) show the change of light in my office.
  • I'm also totally loving punching out 2x2's from the mail + packaging as I go about my day and putting them into my 2x2 page protector. Such a fun way to include more of the stuff of life.

Here's a look at my Tuesday journaling (this is a printable from a download that was included with the Week In The Life™ Prep Day and will go directly into my album):

Here's a look at my day in photos (all were taken with my DSLR with one exception that's noted below):

My first WIML photo this morning was a Happy Birthday text from my sister, and my second is my cup of coffee next to my computer as I read about your yesterday. Thank you so much for this, Ali. I've been a big WIML fan since you introduced me to the idea, but this is the first year our weeks have overlapped and it is so much more fun! I hope there are lots of moments of joy in your day. Louise

I’m loving saving “stuff” and putting it in my album- like my gas receipt to remember just how crazy cheap gas is right now. I stayed up late again doing a blog recap but so glad I did...

Thank you so much Ali! I am loving this project this year and I think it is thanks to the design formula I put together during the Prep Party. I'm limiting the number of photos I'm taking and also love the focussed prompts. This is exactly what I needed right now: taking the time to notice and document all of the everyday things. Thanks for sharing your story and inspiring me. Loving WITL 2020.

Ali do you have other topic / prompt suggestions to lead the day beside the ones you shared on IG?

I used the prompt around here for yesterday & loved how to let me to capture images and tell the story. Here is my Tuesday https://cultivatingcasie.wordpress.com/2020/05/13/week-in-the-life-tuesday-may-12/

Hi! A couple people have suggest "I miss" or "missing" in the Facebook Group (you could add "I don't miss" too). Gratitude is always a good one (I'm using the cards from the kit to include that each day). More/Less would work.

I need to pull my dSLR out for next year... (I documented last week with my phone camera). Your pictures are making me wish I had pulled it out this year.

I am LOVING WITL this year. I feel like I’m really getting a snippet of our lives right now. Keeping the album simple is working well for me and enjoying the journaling prompts. Here’s my Tuesday http://thismessydesk.com/2020/05/13/witl-tuesday/
