Three Things : Weekdays + Creative Family Giveaway

Threethings_weekdays

One of the things that remains constant for all of us are the days
of the week. Each day of our lives present new stories to tell. When I
am on the lookout for supplies I gravitate towards anything that
includes the days of the week or some sort of calendar/date component. These are great supports for my everyday style of picture-taking and scrapbooking.

1. 7gypsies A Year In The Life clear stamps : Completely universal. I especially like stamps such as these that can be used on so many different projects.

2. Days of the week stickers from Papier Valise : Click on the paper section of her shop to access these stickers. Watch out, this shop has tons of great stuff. I also love the French days of the week stickers.

3. Teresa Collins Journal It collection : A bunch of the pieces in this collection include a calendar or day of the week accents (scroll down the link to see more of the collection).

[ Three Things is a weekly product series : check out the archives here. ]

Today's giveaway is a book I have been recently treasuring: The Creative Life: How To Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Soule.

This is one of those books I wish had been available before Simon was born. So many ideas for cultivating creativity and appreciating nature and living a very full and joyfully simple existence. A great gift for a new Mom or someone with small children in the house.

You can read more about Amanda on her wonderful blog: SouleMama.

Leave a comment below and let me know what is your favorite thing to do as a family that brings you closer together. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday night around 5pm Pacific.

My favorite thing to do with my family is so dimple...it's just having dinner together. A set time to meet at least 4-5 times a week to talk. I love hearing about what goes on in everyone's life. Those times are when everyone in my family knows to put everything else on hold and put family first.

we love to spend time playing board games. Gets us away from the TV and also requires us to think. We just re-started family game night and we all are very excited about it:)

Our favorite thing to do as a family is playing board games, especially the non competitive ones. Lots of fun!
The second best is baking pizza together. Everyone creates one pizza with the stuff of his/her choice, and then we share what we created. Yummy :).
Thanks for your inspiration, this'd make a great LO.

Every so often we have family sleep overs with our boys. My husband will sleep with one and I with the other in their beds. They love it when we "sleep over" with them. We read, tell stories, play. Its really great fun for us and the boys too!

Honestly, we spend a TON of time traveling to our boys hockey games/tournaments etc..that time away as a family with other families inthe same situation is the absolute best.

    Heh Ali:
I always feel when I comment you, it's like I actually know you! Anyway..thanks for the chance at the giveaway..i heard about this book and just haven't made it down to the bookstore...but anyway..my favorite times with my family...that's a hard one..I gave up a great career to become a stay at home mom..so everyday with my chidlren is a pure blessing..but i think my family loves road trips. I, as a mommy, dread it..but my children love the adventure!
    pick me pick me!

The book looks terrific.Gosh, there are so many things we enjoy as a family - from movie night to game night to gardening to taking walks to alfresco dinners on the deck. It's hard to choose. I would have to say our favorite summertime thing we do together is go to the Zoo. It's wonderful to be together, to be outside, to look at the animals. Sometimes we pack a picnic lunch, which makes it extra special. We always have a fantastic day at the zoo together.

My husband and I love to go camping. So naturally we camp with our 15 month old son. He loves to go to the beach, hang out in the dirt and get real messy! Also we love to be outside so we go for walks alot. Walks usually lead to the park! My son really loves the slide!!!

Sometimes I fine myself wishing we could all sent down to dinner together...having teenagers makes that hard. I have recently started family Sundays....twice a month we chose something fun to do all together...with no friends...just us. I am really enjoying the time together especially because my oldest will be a senior next year and going off to college.

This looks like a great book! 2 things that come to mind when building bonds: everyone on the parents bed getting to snuggle under the warm covers and road trips. It's hard not to bond when you're in the car together for 8 hours straight! =)

One of our favorite things is getting in the car and driving up to northern New England and going on a "lighthouse hunt". We love to get the maps out and find all the lighthouses. For some we have to hike quite a ways to get to, some we get to climb up to the top of, some have historic shops attached, ALL have fantastic views!! They bring a sense of calm, safety/security and peace.

Our little guy is only 7 months old so we're still building our list of things to do together. We love going places on weekends where he has a lot of new things to look at but my favorite thing is when we curl up at night as a family and one of us reads to the baby as the other one gives him his bottle... that's when we're at our best.
