Three Things : Weekdays + Creative Family Giveaway

Threethings_weekdays

One of the things that remains constant for all of us are the days
of the week. Each day of our lives present new stories to tell. When I
am on the lookout for supplies I gravitate towards anything that
includes the days of the week or some sort of calendar/date component. These are great supports for my everyday style of picture-taking and scrapbooking.

1. 7gypsies A Year In The Life clear stamps : Completely universal. I especially like stamps such as these that can be used on so many different projects.

2. Days of the week stickers from Papier Valise : Click on the paper section of her shop to access these stickers. Watch out, this shop has tons of great stuff. I also love the French days of the week stickers.

3. Teresa Collins Journal It collection : A bunch of the pieces in this collection include a calendar or day of the week accents (scroll down the link to see more of the collection).

Today's giveaway is a book I have been recently treasuring: The Creative Life: How To Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Soule.

This is one of those books I wish had been available before Simon was born. So many ideas for cultivating creativity and appreciating nature and living a very full and joyfully simple existence. A great gift for a new Mom or someone with small children in the house.

You can read more about Amanda on her wonderful blog: SouleMama.

Leave a comment below and let me know what is your favorite thing to do as a family that brings you closer together. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday night around 5pm Pacific.

We always make that extra effort to eat dinner together. Conencting over food has been passed down through our family for generations.

I forgot all about that book! I had heard it was coming out and then forgot about it. I'd love to have it as I am always looking for new ideas. I really need some! My favorite thing for us to do is to just hang out at the lake together - no TV, telephone or other outside influences. So peaceful and perfect.

Meal time, reading time and our walks around the block are our favorite family times. Although, Sunday mornings with the three of us snuggling in bed is pretty darn cool, too! :D

One of our favorite things we do as a family . . . every Friday night is either movie night or game night. We pop popcorn and just enjoy each other's company. Simple, but something the kids (and us) all look forward to. This book looks great!

I wish I could say "around the dinner table talking about our day" or "in the family room playing together" but, we rarely have that time alone as a family since we share it with extended family. So this is what I cherish most: "We love to take long or short drives together when we can enjoy the scenes and talk about our interest these days and take turns listening to our favorite music."

We have young children, so we are just getting to fun ages. Our most favorite thing to do as a family are special outings - about once a month. We got to the park, mueseums, swimming, etc. We let the kids pick and it's their day! On these days we also let a lot of our regular routine and rules slip a bit! Just a day of total fun!

I make iced chai and we play all of our favorite games, such as: Skipbo, Chutes and Ladders and Uno. My kids love drinking a grown-up drink and I love playing games with them. Tons of fun.

It is just my husband and I for now, but I would love this book for future reference. We love to go to the dollar theater together - a fun, cheap date.

my fav family time is 'play guessing game' during our driving... it encourages my kid to see her environment, watch out for objects, think how to descibe it... and we crazy adults got to think very hard, so as not to be out-smart by a first grader! Now that takes a lot of creativity from us!

Our favorite thing to do together is to go to the park and play. Mama gets a few quick shots in and then we just play and play. It's nice to see my husband relax a few minutes out of the week and just focus on nothing else a little while.

With a two year old & a new baby, we are really enjoying lots of cuddle time. Early mornings when my two year old wakes up & I'm still in bed feeding the new baby is one of our favorite times to cuddle. My two year old also loves to "read" books to her baby brother!

My favorite thing is when we all have movie night and turn out the lights and pop popcorn - and then SNUGGLE! Nothing beats that.

Any time my husband and I try something new with our twins we have wonderful family time. It can be as simple as playing at a new park, or as fancy as going out to dinner at a new place we have never tried before. When we slow down and savor the moment it is always sweet. I love to do crafts with them best though. :-)

I love when you do giveaways Ali! Our favorite thing to do as a family is GAME NIGHT! We get down all our favorite board games and play until the wee hours of the morning! It is a great time, and we would do it every night if we didn't have to work the next morning! :)

Our favorite thing to do as a family for the past 18 years has been to go camping together. We camp simply, just a tent, but the peace and closeness are priceless. No TV, no radios, no phones, no alarms, no computers. Wonderful..we all work together and have had many priceless nights around the campfire.

Dinner conversation...Our family is making a "Historical Timeline" Which features the 160 events we believe shaped history. Any family member has the right to purpose any event..but you have to be able to defend it.

What a great book! With a 10 month old, there are so many things we love to do as a family, like go to the local park, teach him how to walk, read books and sing and dance to music. I can't wait for him to get older and be able to do more, especially arts and crafts!

We love to find adventures in our area. Come up with everyday ways to make an adventure. Like find an outdoor park to explore, a beach, a new restaurant or shop, try a new thing. My boys are in cub scouts and they have lots of things to encourage these adventures and the best part - we all learn something new!

I love Teresa Collins' stuff! One of our favorite things to do that brings us closer together is playing board games. We do the "would you rather", "sorry", or "trouble". We also like to cook dinner as a family. But, for us three girls, it's scrapbooking and crafting! Thanks for another great giveaway!
