Three Things : Weekdays + Creative Family Giveaway

Threethings_weekdays

One of the things that remains constant for all of us are the days
of the week. Each day of our lives present new stories to tell. When I
am on the lookout for supplies I gravitate towards anything that
includes the days of the week or some sort of calendar/date component. These are great supports for my everyday style of picture-taking and scrapbooking.

1. 7gypsies A Year In The Life clear stamps : Completely universal. I especially like stamps such as these that can be used on so many different projects.

2. Days of the week stickers from Papier Valise : Click on the paper section of her shop to access these stickers. Watch out, this shop has tons of great stuff. I also love the French days of the week stickers.

3. Teresa Collins Journal It collection : A bunch of the pieces in this collection include a calendar or day of the week accents (scroll down the link to see more of the collection).

Today's giveaway is a book I have been recently treasuring: The Creative Life: How To Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Soule.

This is one of those books I wish had been available before Simon was born. So many ideas for cultivating creativity and appreciating nature and living a very full and joyfully simple existence. A great gift for a new Mom or someone with small children in the house.

You can read more about Amanda on her wonderful blog: SouleMama.

Leave a comment below and let me know what is your favorite thing to do as a family that brings you closer together. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday night around 5pm Pacific.

What we like to do together is to "create" this could be arts and crafts, food, dances. Just spending time together as a family learning from one another.

I love traveling with my family. Last year my husband & I took our 3 kids(twin boys & daughter, all under the age of 5) to Asia. It was amazing! It was so cool going on overnight trains, riding elephants & meeting so many great people. It was great to show our children other cultures & places.

I jumpstart creativity by shopping - any kind of shopping gets me to have creative ideas - and my aunt can come up with cute ideas all over the homegoods store!

We love to play outside in the grass and dirt with our toddler. He loves it and it makes him laugh so hard when we play and act silly in the yard. I just can't get enough of him....family time really is priceless. there is nothing or anywhere else I would rather be then with my little family!

My favourite thing to do as a family (we don't have kids yet) is to go for coffee. My husband's schedule changes every week, so we take our coffee breaks when we can.
By the way, I find your posts very inspiring, thank you so much for sharing!

My families favorite thing to do together is eating dinner at the kitchen table every night. It is not too exciting but it gives us the opportunity to pray together before the meal and to discuss what we each did today. With a busy schedule of school, work, soccer, gymnastics etc. we treasure this uninterupted time spent together as a family.

There is nothing like a long walk to help us get reconnected as a family.

my favorite thing to do with my family is walking around our little town with them. all of us love to be outside and when we're walking we like to dream of the house we may someday own (which is a mixture of about 35 houses!).

My daughters (3yo & 5 yo) love to eat out. Hubby & I used to love eating out before kids, and now since the kids are out of the 'diaper' stage, we can sit and enjoy our meal. The kids see it as a treat b/c we usually eat at home. My favorite family time is just sitting and watching something together, cuddling with the kids!

We love cuddle time in our bed with the kids between us...before bed, in the morning, whenever. Besides the obvious tickle-fests and cuddles, we can have some pretty good talks all piled in there together. Love it!

We love to have a leisurely Saturday morning breakfast as a family at a local diner. It's super kid-friendly and not too expensive. It's so nice to be able to hang out and ease our way into the weekend after a long and hectic week!

Right now the boys (four and two) are into collecting bugs (and the whole neighborhood for that matter). It has offered an opportunity for adventure, creativity, learning, fun, family togetherness, and being good to nature.

every evening, usually over dinner if we're all together, one of us asks "So... How was your day?" Done in a sing-song voice. For some reason it always stops us from the distracting thoughts of our days and brings us back to the Here and Now... the joy of just being together. Our daughter, now 4, is usually the one that asks the question since it became a routine. I love it!

Our children are grown and married, but we manage to get together almmost every week for dinner and then some kind of activity. Last week, for instance, the weather was beautiful outside so we had a picnic in a local park's Lilac Arbortium/frisbee golf course and after eating we played frisbee, smelled the flowers, and ran off our little legs. During winter we play with the little ones, read books, or play Rock Star or Guitar Hero--the whole family gets involved.

Our family's favorite thing to do together is Sunday - reserved for church & family time. No birthday parties, sports, chores. Just time together.

We do several things, but one thing that we try to do every week is have Family Study night. We either read our weekly bible reading, or study some other information that is appropriate for our daughter and just have the chance to talk about things going on in our lives and how we can strengthen our faith. Great topic!

We recently moved from Michigan to San Diego and we try to walk as a family on the beach every weekend. It gives all of us a chance to be together, a chance to exercise, and for my husband and I - a chance to actually talk to each other (we have 6 year old twins and a 4 year old). It is the highlight of the week.

It's so simple, but the only time we really all come together is for dinner a few times a week. Our favorite is to bring home a big tray of sushi - we all love it and it makes us happy!

Just now, my favorite thing is the time between bath and bed time where we snuggle in a pile, read books, listen to music and are just us with no outside interruptions, worries or interference, just togetherness.

Lately, I have been gravitating towards calendars in my scrapbooking, too. Love these - and whoa!, love the Papier Valise website, too!
My family's favorite together activity is taking walks - all of us, dh, son and dog. We've just moved back to my hometown and are enjoying walking to the beach, to the nature sanctuary and the old mill pond. We have really enjoyed the progression of this beautiful spring, and are looking forward to the changes summer will bring.
