Go Vote. Today is a very big day here in the US. As many of you know, politics/government is a pretty big daily part of
life in my house. My husband, Chris, is unopposed in his seat in the Oregon
Legislature this time around which has made for quite a different
season than a couple years back when things were so very crazy right up until the last minute.
No matter who you are supporting this is your chance to have your voice heard.
I will be celebrating my 33rd birthday today as we watch and wait just a little bit longer.

I waited in line to vote for 35 minutes this morning and I was struck also by the buzz in the air as I waited. I had an interesting conversation with the 2 women on either side of me, one younger and one older than myself. We discussed the importance, as women, to vote since we didn't always have that right. As I stood in line, saw women, African Americans, and one man from Cambodia waiting and it didn't seem such a hardship at all to have to wait 35 minutes. We are lucky we all had the right to be there--other places in the world do not. If you haven't voted--please do. Oh, and happy birthday to Ali!

And thanks Rolin for the wishes for wisdom today. That's my wish as well. When I got to the polling place this morning 30 minutes before it opened, there was already a long line and an even longer one by the time the polls opened. Hallelujah for people getting out to vote!

Happy birthday, Ali! You share your birthday with my younger son who's 31 today -- eek -- you could be my daughter which must mean I'm getting old! I loved looking at all the Week in the Life albums on your blog, and it underscored again for me just how much creativity there is out there. I thought the same thing last night when I was browsing the DD gallery. Blew me away! Anyway, I've voted although I'm not hopeful my guy will win. Have a great day!
