Yesterday & Today Begins In One Week & A Giveaway

YT_giveaway

In just one week my new workshop begins at Big Picture Scrapbooking: Yesterday & Today.

It's hard to believe it is almost finally here.

And in case you didn't know already, you're invited to join me.

Here's what I want you to know if you are still considering embarking on this journey with me:

• With a focus on the stories from yesterday & the stories from today, this class is really an in-depth look at the way I scrapbook.

• Each week (on Thursdays) you will receive an email inviting you to the classroom where a video presentation will be waiting for you to access on your own time (you do not need to be online at a certain time - it's just one of the awesome things about Big Picture's classroom set-up). These video presentations are not just a 5-15 minute talk about the subject and the layout - so far they are averaging around an hour. During that hour my goal is to inspire you to take a look at the way in which you scrapbook and encourage you to focus on the things that matter most to you within the framework of the theme for that week.

• In addition to the video presentations there are weekly video tutorials showing my processes for concepts and techniques using Photoshop Elements.

• For those of you, like me, who like to actually read the weekly content there will be a color PDF download detailing the concepts and information covered in the video presentation (as well as a how-to for the weekly project).

• Each week there will be a digital element download and a digital layered template (all new). The digital elements will be used as printables (hybrid elements) on the weekly layout and the layered template will match the paper layout I create for each week.

• Even if you will be away for a time during the class you will still have access to the materials.

• The class will have it's own message board & gallery for sharing and communicating with one another (including me).

• This workshop is a chance for you to:

  1. investigate your past through words + photos

  2. do something meaningful with older photos if you have them (or to tell those stories that have meaning even if you don't possess the photos)

  3. tell your own personal stories of success + challenge + growth

  4. work on embracing imperfection & going with the flow

  5. celebrate your everyday life + make sure you are capturing stories that are meaningful to you today

  6. connect with other people who care deeply about collecting + celebrating the stories of their lives

• The cost for this 13 week class is $99.

I am really, really excited for this workshop to get underway.

I hope to see you there.

Want to know more? Additional details, an audio introduction, and registration can be found here. Registration will close on October 7.

I really would like to document my childhood. I remember all the places I lived in (I am an Army brat), but I hardly remember my childhood. I wish I could tell what was my dream job, my favorite game and so on. I think it would help me reconnect with myself as I am trying to define my personnel mission statement and feel more in line with my true self for the future! Does your class include hypnosis sessions to get back in time?
    Cheers

I would like to document my lifelong relationship and friendship with my maternal grandmother, who I miss very much. I think I might be able to scan some pictures from my Mom's photo album to help with this.

The story of my namesakes. I am the youngest of six girls and my mother had a hard time coming up with another name for a girl but she did and I think I want my family to understand why she chose those names for me.

My strengths - who influenced and inspired them - the people in my past and present who have/are shaped me to be the woman I am today. What a great class!

I would like to find a way to tell the story of my many moves since I left home at 18 up until now. It would be so great to chain those moments together and reflect on where they have brought me.

I would like to document my family history: people who I never had a chance to meet or know well. I want to use all my Grandma's old b/w pictures.

I really want to document our honeymoon to Italy. It was such an amazing trip - definitely the highlight of our lives. I've been putting it off because it just seems to be such a big project to tackle and I want to do it just right. Well, we are coming up on our 10 year anniversary, so it woud be great if i could get the story told in time for that event.

I want to create a record of the story of my faith. My faith in God, in my family, and how it has colored every aspect of my life.

I would love to document my childhood and family relationships. So far I've collected the photos and the memories, but I have not put them together yet.

I would like to document the journey of my son, who is 13 and in 8th grade, who was born premature, given every kind of diagnosis including that he would never go to school without an aide, and how his life is today: a self-sustaining, self-confident, caring boy, smart, attending school without an aide with all grades currently 80 and above, leaving many doctors and others in disbelief(not his mother)at his remarkable progress to becoming a young man.

I am very luck to have a mom who is big into scrapbooking as well, and has lots of projects in mind for our childhood photos (and several completed already!). But I would like to take some of those same photos and put my own spin on the memories. I really need to scrap my connection with my grandfather (who passed a few years ago) but I can't find the words or one specific story to tell. I would love to get some help with that.

I would especially like to document some of my Mom's favorite memories growing up. She recently found a lot of old photographs from her childhood that are just waiting to have their stories told.
    Thanks for this opportunity Ali!

I would like to document my life with my wonderful grandparents. There are so many stories I want to record before all are forgotten. My grandparents are both gone and I want their stories to live on for my children and grandchildren.
I would love to be in your class.

I would like to document 20 years of 'art' and 'healing' and 'growing' in Provence, France. That chapter is closing in our lives, and before it's too far away in my mind, I'd like to document our stories in the house on the hill, in the quiet village where my parents and sister and I spent much time over the years.

I'd really really like to document my life as it is but also my family history. Having adopted parents or grandparents on both sides this would be a real challenge.
I'd love a place in the class because I really don't know where to begin. I always start with a project only to find that I won't finish is because I get carried away.
Thanks a lot Ali for your work and this giveaway!
