Yesterday & Today Begins In One Week & A Giveaway

YT_giveaway

In just one week my new workshop begins at Big Picture Scrapbooking: Yesterday & Today.

It's hard to believe it is almost finally here.

And in case you didn't know already, you're invited to join me.

Here's what I want you to know if you are still considering embarking on this journey with me:

• With a focus on the stories from yesterday & the stories from today, this class is really an in-depth look at the way I scrapbook.

• Each week (on Thursdays) you will receive an email inviting you to the classroom where a video presentation will be waiting for you to access on your own time (you do not need to be online at a certain time - it's just one of the awesome things about Big Picture's classroom set-up). These video presentations are not just a 5-15 minute talk about the subject and the layout - so far they are averaging around an hour. During that hour my goal is to inspire you to take a look at the way in which you scrapbook and encourage you to focus on the things that matter most to you within the framework of the theme for that week.

• In addition to the video presentations there are weekly video tutorials showing my processes for concepts and techniques using Photoshop Elements.

• For those of you, like me, who like to actually read the weekly content there will be a color PDF download detailing the concepts and information covered in the video presentation (as well as a how-to for the weekly project).

• Each week there will be a digital element download and a digital layered template (all new). The digital elements will be used as printables (hybrid elements) on the weekly layout and the layered template will match the paper layout I create for each week.

• Even if you will be away for a time during the class you will still have access to the materials.

• The class will have it's own message board & gallery for sharing and communicating with one another (including me).

• This workshop is a chance for you to:

  1. investigate your past through words + photos

  2. do something meaningful with older photos if you have them (or to tell those stories that have meaning even if you don't possess the photos)

  3. tell your own personal stories of success + challenge + growth

  4. work on embracing imperfection & going with the flow

  5. celebrate your everyday life + make sure you are capturing stories that are meaningful to you today

  6. connect with other people who care deeply about collecting + celebrating the stories of their lives

• The cost for this 13 week class is $99.

I am really, really excited for this workshop to get underway.

I hope to see you there.

Want to know more? Additional details, an audio introduction, and registration can be found here. Registration will close on October 7.

I want to document my first experience with 4-H cookies at the county fair and how my dad helped me feel like the very BEST cookie maker (even if the judges didn't see it that way)!

In sixth grade I started wearing glasses & realized there were actually leaves on trees. I have never done pages of my childhood before & realize if I don't start soon, there will no stories for grandkids.

I don't know where or how I would begin but I would like to document my thoughts and memories of being raised by a single mom to 3 girls. She worked hard. I do remember tough times but looking back, as I mother myself now, it is amazing what she accomplished.

I'd like to document our family life. There are so many wonderful stories that are still sitting in boxes and haven't been told.
It sounds like an awesome class, Ali.

Eight years ago my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. Two years later, I was diagnosed. Even though both of us are doing great, in my opinion, I have wanted to do a scrapbook page about it - 2 sisters survive cancer. The problem is, I just can't get the right words - even after this long and a great outcome for both of us. I would love to take this workshop to see if I could work through this. Thanks for the chance Ali!!

Hi Ali, I would like to document how I have come to accept the fact that I won't be blessed with children but I have been blessed with a wonderful family filled with nieces and nephews. I don't question why but there must be a reason. That's what I would like to document.

I think it's really time to write down the story of my parents. I realized the other day that I don't know that much about their childhood. And since they don't live close to me, my kids don't know hardly anything at all about them. I'd like to create a book about their lives.

Hi Ali, I would like to document my childhood days with my brother Jeff. He died in a car accident when we were teenagers and most of his photos are tucked away at my parent's house. I would love to get those photos out and tell the story of our lives together.

I really want to scrap about my battle with Cancer at the age of 15. Such a horrible age to have a serious disease...I feel like I lost part of my teenage years. :( I want my boys to know about how I felt - physically and emotionally. How I had a wonderful group of friends who stuck by me (and still friends today - 20 years later!).

I want to document my "I got hit by a motorcycle" story from my 5th grade year in elementary school. I ran out in front of a motorcycle...was struck...not hurt terribly bad, but school buses passed the accident so rumors started flying.

Ali, I am already registered for your class, so I'm not sure if I am eligible for the giveaway, but I am looking forward to telling the story of my great-great grandmother. I was lucky to have her in my life for 18 years, but i wish I would have known her in this stage of my life, as a new mom.
I am so excited to get started in class and am thrilled to hear about the one hour average time length of the videos. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for taking this time with us and for sharing your passion for words and photos with us. You have had a great influence on the way I document our life story.

Since my dad was in the Navy, I moved all over the world as a child, so there is quite a story there--and most of that has not been scrapped by me yet! Thank you!

A story about myself? That's really a story about 3 women who shaped me, my mother, aunt and their cousin. I leave on Sunday to spend a week with them and my cousins on the Gulf Coast. I am bringing my camera and my digital voice recorder. I plan to come back with lots of stories and pictures. Thanks, Ali, for the fantastic opportunity to win.

I'd like to document all the little traditions we did as a family when I was young. We never took trips or family vacations, but remembering the little things we did really make me want to share those things (or simple things like them) with my son now. Little things like getting drive through meals and going to a park to eat, leave forks and spoons stuck standing up in watermellow rinds (that totally drove my mom crazy!), and just driving around and seeing thing together and talking - not having to do *something* all the time. Just being and enjoying it. I want to remember those simple things and share them with my son so maybe he'll slow down and enjoy the simple too.

I lost 80 pounds on WW 5 years ago. I have a lot of before and after pictures, but more importantly, I'd like to sit down and document all the things I gained.
