Sponsor Giveaways : Tracey Clark for Big Picture Scrapbooking, Emera Bags, Shimelle.com
Three people will win a spot in Tracey Clark's upcoming class at Big Picture Scrapbooking called Picture Spring.
From Tracey: If someone would have told me what I know today, I’m not sure I would have believed them. That the dew of morning could be magic. That a brand new bud, longing to bloom could cause for celebration. That a cup of tea could whisper an enchanting tale. That what was on my cutting board could bring me back to center. That a dandelion could restore my hope. It’s as though the entire world around me has woken up as have I, as I look both inside myself and out and feel as if every blade of grass, every shard of light is a brand new muse.
It is all of these things that prompted me to create Picture Spring; my new online at Big Picture Scrapbooking. A 30 day soulful seasonal celebration of these muses and using our cameras to seek them out. For all the details on registration on how you can awaken your senses and your lens this spring, visit me over there. I’m giddy with what we’ll discover together.
Picture Spring is a 30-day guided e-class at Big Picture Scrapbooking that will encourage and inspire you to use photography to celebrate the season of new beginnings while honoring and nourishing your creative spirit. my favorite pic. is not my best...but it just says SUMMER and BUDDIES to me. my 3 yr old son is sitting next to my godson on his 6th bday. my son is being licked (and smiling b/c of it) by a dog you can barely see, my godson is looking straight at the camera, teeth missing like only a 6 yr old's can, and on the other side of him is his sister with a smile so big her chewing gum is visible. it was the first day of summer and they are sitting in the doorway, having just polished off a bag of sweet 16 doughnuts (the perfect birthday breakfast, right!?) and are ready to jump into the pool behind me. behind them, and out of the picture, is another sweet old dog, sallie, a black lab, laying on her cushion. it would be her last summer....and though you cannot see her i will always remember that she was there and those 3 little monkeys were lovin' on her that, as always.

My current favorite photo is one I just discovered in an old box that had belonged to my father. It is a picture of my grandfather and I. I was about four at the time and am now 61.
What drew me most to the picture was how amazingly alike my father and grandfather looked in their elder years. The other thing that rocked me was that I could look at the picture and smell my grandmother's wood soap from memory. Terrific!

My favorite photo is of my nephew blowing on an old dandelion. He was concentrating so hard and unaware of everything around him. And printing it in Black and White made it even more precious.

Fabulous giveaways. I'd love to win the camera bag. It would give me the excuse to finally buy that DSLR. :) However, I would not mind the other giveaways either. Good luck to everyone!

My current favorite photo is one of my daughter who is 6 at a swim meet. I took it from the opposite side of the pool and she is standing on the starting block. You can see the team banner that goes across the pool. And the empty pool lanes waiting for her arrival :) I love it!!

I have 2 actually. One is of me and Dad. He is wearing a cowboy hat and laughing with pure joy as I am giving him a big toddler kiss on the cheek in front of a waterfall at Yellowstone park. The colors are so 1970 and I love that my Mom captured the pure joy of the moment.
The 2nd is from Saturday where my children are laying handpicked wildflowers on my Dad's grave. I know it sounds a bit morbid, but it was such a glorious spring day in Texas and the service was as close to perfect as you can get to a final goodbye. It brought us all peace.

I have so many favorites but I think my all time most favorite is a photo of me with my husband at a company party. If I had to descibe it, true emotion. Laughing, hugging and enjoying each others company.

We had our destination wedding in Mexico back in December 2009 and my favorite picture is me, my husband and my parents hanging out at the resort. It was taken the day after and my mom was so happy and she said to me "it was perfect" all day long. :)
