Sometimes best friends can help you polish up your word...I've been batting around classic, essential, all trying to get to the one word - BASIC. Thanks for the push Ali!

Every year when I get Christmas cards I am reminded of old friends that I haven't seen in a while - people who I really enjoyed during the "season" that they were in my life.
My word for 2011 is "Reunion." The more I think about it the more I know it is the right word for me.
I am going to be proactive in reuniting with old friends. I have a list of them I plan to call on.

Ali, you are infectious, in a good way! I am a high school teacher and today, I challenged my 165 students to take on "one little word" to inspire them in 2011. They love it and we will be creating a huge word collage on our bulletin board. Thanks for your infectious inspiration!!!

I so enjoyed reading through this list.
My one little word for this year is "seriously". I took time to find a website that translates into various languages and did a wordle using my word in Italian, German, French and Irish - the countries of my ancestors. Gonna be a fun year. Seriously ;>

After spending weeks thinking I've finally settled on SPARKLE-to be brilliant, lively or vivacious. Really, that's how I want to feel, I want my house to sparkle, my children, my husband, my friends. I can bring some sparkle to myself and to everyone around me. I'll be able to start the class in a few weeks, I'm excited.
