It's actually going to be a very inspiring 50 degrees here this weekend, which is soooo welcome after our very cold winter and record snowfall. I've got tulips on my desktop wallpaper and silk ones in a vase--soon I'll be able to see my own growing outside a window!

I have been inspired by the Voluntary Simplicity movement. I want to live a life not surrounded by meaningless goods, but by the few objects that truly mean something to me. Cutting back will also allow me to do the things I truly want to do, like travel again.

Don't laugh, but American Idol is inspiring me. I get songs stuck in my head, and I find myself using the lyrics on layouts and projects.

    Hi Ali,
I am a pack rat and save all old magazines. I was 'scrap-blocked' in Feb. and decided to dig out my oldest magazines. In 30 minutes I had tagged 3 magazines with 40 post-its of inspiration! It's like clothing styles, what old is new again......very fun and full of ideas!

My baby boy Carter is totally inspiring me right now! I have two girls that I have been scrapping now for 12 years, and it's just so much fun to do some boy layouts and projects after all of these years...plus he's now 6 months old and I'm getting some great photos of all the exploring he is beginning to do.

My next step is to blend the best of my abilities in both digital and traditional projects. This is sooooo much fun! Thanks for this awesome chance to attend this retreat!

The colors outside. The end of the winter browns and whites and the new green colors coming up out of the ground, repeating the cycle once again...a promise of things to come!

I am inspired by a church service that my family recently attended. A few weeks ago, a friend of mind lost her baby. God called her to heaven before my friend and her family got to spend time together. This was a very sad and heartbreaking time for so many. Last week, the memorial was held. In this service so many things were shared. The most profound and inspiring words that I walked away with was: "Even though, baby Maelyn did not speak a word, her life, thought short, made a difference to so many." This little baby has moved and really touched the lives of many. I am inspired to LOVE more, THANK alot, and LIVE loud!

This may sound completely hokey - but these days, my inspiration comes from trying to find creative ways to use what I have. Instead of running out to find the "perfect" item, I am trying to look at what I have and repurpose it. While my husband and I have been fortunate enough not to be completely hit by the recession, I think this is a good reminder for all to re-examine our lives for purpose and meaning that go beyond the physical "stuff". (this has also caused me to look a little closer at my shoe obsession!)

My son's growth! He is 17 months now and the way he plays and spends his days has insipired me to make some changes in his nursery. It's looking like a toddler lives there now, rather than a baby. We have added a bookcase and a toy bin and we have changed up his his bedtime routine as a result. What fun to watch a child grow- what fun to find an excuse to do more decorating!
