Creating wreaths to put on the graves of our parents. A great way to make them still be a part of our lives.

My personal favorite is setting up the manger scene much like the one I had growing up. With children about the house I don't get to do it much anymore, at least the way I did in the past. So, now I like family snow day, sledding and laughing. It's usually spur of the moment rather than planned.

My favorite tradition is happening this weekend. We always start our Christmas Holiday by attending our town's parade of trees. For the town the size of 900 people we have a pretty nice festival weekend. It really gets me in the holiday spirit.

My favorite December tradition unfortunately doesn't happen anymore, but it brings back wonderful memories whenever I think of it. One of my brothers is a singer, and many years ago, he wrote a Christmas song about our family. Every year on Christmas Day, before sitting down for Christmas dinner, we would all gather around him as he played his guitar, and sang "The Christmas Song". Now I have a recording of it on a CD he made for each family member, and I play it each Christmas season to bring back those wonderful memories.

My favorite tradition is making hot chocolate, piling into the car and driving around to see the Christmas lights. We end the night with reading a Christmas book. Last year was the first year my younger son read "Twas the night before Christmas" aloud to the family. Be still my mother's heart!...so cute. - Cathy Abrew

So many favorite traditions...Yesterday we put up our Christmas tree..sharing memories about ornaments is one of my favorite traditions...first christmas, family vacations, kid accomplishments..and our new ornament this year...HOPE in sparkly letters to commemorate my husband's gracious fortitude and our love for him as he has battled cancer since last January and we now hope is cancer-free. And it snowed last night...love waking up to fresh snow with the Christmas lights twinkling outside underneath the snow1

Hard to pick just one but I think my fav is probably the baking. We fill a trio of large Mary Engelbreit tins I have had for several years with lots of goodies to last the whole month through. My littlest loves to bake.

Love making the smells of Christmas on the stove (orange slice, cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf...I'm missing something). I also look forward to our annual Christmas Eve family gathering at our house complete with presenting all the kids/cousins with matching Christmas P.J.'s. So fun!

Our favorite tradition is opening our Christmas boxes that decorate the mantle. Every night we open a box, take out the slip of paper with a Bible reference on it, read the portion of the Christmas story from my daughter's tiny pink new Testament, and then find a surprise inside. The surprises are anything from tiny toys, to quarters to buy a gift for someone else, to fun activities to do (like go for a drive to look at Christmas lights with your pjs on!) I decorated the 25 boxes 5 years ago and each year they are a highlight.

My favorite December Tradition - keeping all of our Christmas lights on on Christmas Eve. It sounds weird, but it's magical on Christmas morning when the only illumination is the colored lights! :)

My grandmother who always made her famous cornflake wreath cookies and can no longer do them, I took over the tradition a couple of years ago and I have actually been threatened by family members if I show up without them not to bother showing up at all. :). The story of my grandma comes up every year as we enjoy them.

My favorite tradition is that on Christmas eve my family does its own holiday dinner with good china and all! While I am cooking each year my kids add a hand-drawn picture to our xmas eve table cloth. After 27 years this is probably my most treasured holiday item! And the time we have together on xmas eve is special because the next day we do the whole extended family Christmas day meal.

Our family's favorite Christmas Tradition is on Christmas Eve when we play the game find the pickle in the christmas tree. I am in charge of the pickle prizes for the entire family. It is soooo much fun from age 5 to age 65 each person gets a special gift once they find the tiny 1" green pickle in the tree! love this tradition, we have been doing it for over 10 years now and it helps time pass on that very very long day waiting for Santa to arrive. We also all wear brand new PJs for Christmas morning fun! Thank you! Your giveways are so incredible. Steph

my favorite christmas tradition is getting our annual christmas ornaments. we get them from a sorta local (california) designer. this year i had to track her down and drive an hour and a half to a craft show to get them, but it was well worth it. mostly because, my mom, and my sisters go with me. we have been doing it for about 15 years, and i love it. we have so many stories to tell... all because of a little dough ornament. it is such a simple, yet amazing part of our christmas tradition.
