PEEK AT THE PROCESS
| I knew three things for sure when I started the creative process for the layout featured above:

1. I wanted to use the photo of Simon reading in the tree and I wanted it to be bigger than 4x6.
2. I wanted to use the July 2010 stamp set.
3. I wanted to use elements from the Studio Calico September 2010 kit.

I started by cutting out the strip of numbers from the Jenni Bowlin pattern paper. At this point in the process I wasn't too sure what the end layout design was going to look like but I had a general idea to use that number strip as an anchor along the bottom of the main content.

After stamping the Capture Life rectangle above on the cream cardstock I decided to repeat that basic shape using pattern papers (sometimes I just stamp and go for it). I love the technique of repetition.

To give the design a bit of variety I mixed up the height of the rectangles.

Each of the pattern paper rectangles was adhered to the cream cardstock. I added a bit of stitching around two of them. These rectangles would make great homes for additional embellishments if you were creating a page similar to this and wanted to add more.

As you might notice I ended up cutting out this whole area with the cream cardstock background and adhering it to white cardstock.

My initial plan was to have the chipboard title just along the top. I ended up adding "& Read A Book" towards the end of the process. Because that all happened at the end I trimmed some white cardstock off the top to make the margins between the edge of the chipboard letters and the cardstock even.

To complete the page I adhered it to the dark navy lined pattern paper and added zig zag stitching and a little bit of journaling.

Your stamps are so beautiful...they really represent my thoughts when I'm scrapbooking by beautiful family...if anything, I'd maybe like to see more of the small journaling boxes with the same ideas as the July stamps. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

Oh my, what a dreamy site you have! Amazing creativity and such a vision for colors and layouts, etc!

What would I like to see - "in my life" type of stamps, like "you make me smile today" or "rainbows after the storm" and "let a smile be your guide" - very uplifting, happy, wonderfully positive sentiments and images to match! I hope it makes sense, lol!

    Blessings!

Sometimes I scrap about things in my life that are difficult or sad; it helps me sort out the feelings and I like to think it makes me stronger. I can never find stamps or embellishments (other than hearts) to use on the pages. How about something sensitive for the bumpy parts of life's journey? Thanks for the chance to win

Congratulations on the Studio AE club. I would love a set of stamps to co-ordinate with December Daily. I love the photo overlays you used as journal cards and would love a stamp of that curved rectangle shape. Obviously the word December, numbers, etc. would be great to go with it.

How 'bout some sentiment stamps (all in one set) for us card makers (birthday, thank you, sympathy, thinking of you, just because, get well, etc). Also love the idea of number stamps of all sizes/styles for projects like December Daily.

Hi Ali thanks for such a great opportunity. Being Australian I would love to see stamps for Mum. I'm sure there are lots of Aussies in the US that could use them too. Thanks so much.
