PEEK AT THE PROCESS
| I knew three things for sure when I started the creative process for the layout featured above:

1. I wanted to use the photo of Simon reading in the tree and I wanted it to be bigger than 4x6.
2. I wanted to use the July 2010 stamp set.
3. I wanted to use elements from the Studio Calico September 2010 kit.

I started by cutting out the strip of numbers from the Jenni Bowlin pattern paper. At this point in the process I wasn't too sure what the end layout design was going to look like but I had a general idea to use that number strip as an anchor along the bottom of the main content.

After stamping the Capture Life rectangle above on the cream cardstock I decided to repeat that basic shape using pattern papers (sometimes I just stamp and go for it). I love the technique of repetition.

To give the design a bit of variety I mixed up the height of the rectangles.

Each of the pattern paper rectangles was adhered to the cream cardstock. I added a bit of stitching around two of them. These rectangles would make great homes for additional embellishments if you were creating a page similar to this and wanted to add more.

As you might notice I ended up cutting out this whole area with the cream cardstock background and adhering it to white cardstock.

My initial plan was to have the chipboard title just along the top. I ended up adding "& Read A Book" towards the end of the process. Because that all happened at the end I trimmed some white cardstock off the top to make the margins between the edge of the chipboard letters and the cardstock even.

To complete the page I adhered it to the dark navy lined pattern paper and added zig zag stitching and a little bit of journaling.

I love your digital designs and would especially love: journal boxes and circles, maybe a set that included the words "struggle, difficult, hard, with faith, trust, hope, love would be unique and very useful to those of us that want to really tell our day- to day struggles and for art journalers!
    THANK YOU ALI!

I love what you did with the strips of paper combined with the stamping using the stamps with the similar shapes. I'm sure you're already planning Christmas stamps, but I would live to see them shaped like rags like your Summertime set--easy gift tags!

LOVE your stamps! I would love to see some running stamps...I'm training for the marathon and I would love to see some stamps related to running and health and fitness! i.e. "Finish Line" or "This is why I...run, swim or whatever..." "Put one foot in front of the other" I don't know, but I know you could come up with something cool!

I simply love your style but am a card maker. I would love to see some great every day sentiments and for special occasions but for both the inside and outside! There is nothing more than not having the perfect little statement/sentiment for the inside as well.

I love your stamps and digital designs. Let's see...I use a lot of birthday and thank-you stamps, so those themes would be great to see more of. Also, a nostalgic stamp set - I'm loving silhouettes and hot air balloons lately.
