PEEK AT THE PROCESS
| I knew three things for sure when I started the creative process for the layout featured above:

1. I wanted to use the photo of Simon reading in the tree and I wanted it to be bigger than 4x6.
2. I wanted to use the July 2010 stamp set.
3. I wanted to use elements from the Studio Calico September 2010 kit.

I started by cutting out the strip of numbers from the Jenni Bowlin pattern paper. At this point in the process I wasn't too sure what the end layout design was going to look like but I had a general idea to use that number strip as an anchor along the bottom of the main content.

After stamping the Capture Life rectangle above on the cream cardstock I decided to repeat that basic shape using pattern papers (sometimes I just stamp and go for it). I love the technique of repetition.

To give the design a bit of variety I mixed up the height of the rectangles.

Each of the pattern paper rectangles was adhered to the cream cardstock. I added a bit of stitching around two of them. These rectangles would make great homes for additional embellishments if you were creating a page similar to this and wanted to add more.

As you might notice I ended up cutting out this whole area with the cream cardstock background and adhering it to white cardstock.

My initial plan was to have the chipboard title just along the top. I ended up adding "& Read A Book" towards the end of the process. Because that all happened at the end I trimmed some white cardstock off the top to make the margins between the edge of the chipboard letters and the cardstock even.

To complete the page I adhered it to the dark navy lined pattern paper and added zig zag stitching and a little bit of journaling.

I like sewing, antiques or vintage (heritage) words/art. I'm a huge fan of mixing handwriting with standard fonts.

Oh, oh, oh....I am such a stampaholic. And Ali Edwards stamps???
I guess I know what I want for Christmas this year. I love the idea someone else had of the circles. I've seen nice circle stamps on your layouts before and never been able to find just the right ones for that look. And the little tags you did for DD and the Week in the Life this year would make great stamps. Thanks Ali!

Love the idea of this stamp system. Is it available for Canadians too ?

I haven't seen much related to it, so I'd love to see a stamp theme for Aunts and Uncles as some of us who don't or cant have their own children, play very important roles in the lives of our nieces & nephews.

Thanks for the chance to win your awesome stamps!

I would love to see a few phrases that could be used on the inside of a card or on a journaling spot. A few lines of handwritten text.

I'd love to see a stamp with a bigger HELLO LIFE . One of our local hospitals uses it in their Womens' Center/Baby ads , and I'm always cutting it out.

I would love to see you do stamps for school layouts or something about superheros. I have a couple superheros in my house that they would work for!

Gosh, these stamps are wonderful! I would love to see some stamps that are focused on the men in our lives. I find myself making a lot of cards that look more "masculine" because there aren't a lot of good ones out there these days.

Beautiful layout Ali! Love the new stamp sets... I like that you have journal type mixed with phrases. I think it would nice to see a set around "home" with maybe a little "family" mixed in.
