I'm sure I'm not the only one who loved the papers and pencils. In fact my first job was to work at a teacher's supply store!

But school was so much more than that for me. It was where I could shine. It was where I was most comfortable. I was listened to. I was important! It's where I learned to be a leader. It's where I learned to be *ME*.

I never really liked school at all but I did love shopping for all the new school supplies. And the first day. After that it was all down hill. Sorry! But I love school from my son's perspective. He's a good student.

I suspect you will hear this a lot from scrapbookers: I loved new school supplies. Crayons, pens, notebooks, glue, scissors, rulers - I loved all of that stuff, and still do. YAY for new scrapbook supplies!

I loved everything about school except for math classes. Having one daughter in college and one in high school, I am enjoying watching them navigate through the ups and downs of friendships, etc

I loved getting new shoes! I only got new shoes before the school year started. When they wore out, we went barefoot or without. Getting the new shoes was so exciting!

There are so many things I adored about school but what comes to mind is the little orange dress I wore to school in kindergarten with the big black buttons that said 2+2=4. I was teased a bit about it but it did not deter my love for that dress! Man I wished I still had those buttons!!! They would sure look good on a scrapbook page...
