I loved getting a new lunch box, no. 2 pencils, and crayons. It was always special to wear the new dress that my mom made for me for going back to school.

My favourite thing about school was art class. Even as early as grade 1 it was what I most looked forward to at school.

I simply LOVED school. My parents thought that it was my home. Sadly only one of my two sons inherited my love of all things school related. I still to this day LOVE buying school supplies and can't wait for them to start a fresh year.

I remember (& loved) walking to school w/ my older brothers. It was my time with them - to laugh, get advice, complain, just being w/ them and saying nothing at all.

The kids are grown, in college now, but I still make chocolate scotcheroos for that 'first day' of school and manage to get them to them somehow. Love the memories.
