I always loved my teachers (or most of them anyway) and I think that was one of my favorite things about school and now I am a teacher too!

I have many memories I love, but I'll submit two... the first is The First Day of school. Wearing that new outfit that I'd been looking at in my closet for a month and secretly wearing when my mom wasn't home. A new backback holding my super cool Charlies Angels lunchbox with that awesome thermos that I'd take cambells soup in. The second one is after school, running home just in time to sit down and watch the Brady Bunch and enjoying warm chocolate chip cookies with milk before having to do my homework (which was not my most favorite memory)

I was always excited to start a new school year. In a way it was a new beginning, new friends, a new schedule and of course new SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!! Now that I'm all grown up and I have a little guy in elementary school I have a chance to get excited about buying school supplies all over again. Except this time they're not for me :( Can you believe my 1st grader had highlighters on his school supply list? He also needed erasable pens for 1st grade Music??? Gosh, what kind of school supplies will he need in middle school??? :)

I loved getting to stay after school to help the teacher because I walked around the block to school. I loved cleaning erasers and dumping trash cans and feeling the teacher's pet. Now I hate cleaning!!!Ha!Ha!

I loved seeing my friends. Since I grew up in the country, I would go 3 long months in the summer without other kids around. It was great to see September come and know I would be back around my friends.

I went to a country school until eighth grade and I loved it. Playing gray wolf or jump rope or softball at recess, singing around the piano in the "big" room, taking off the last half of Friday afternoon in the spring to play softball with another country school, reading at my desk while another grade was having a class with the teacher ... good memories!
