Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)

Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

I usually get a cute little something for my 5 year old daughter and a nice card and starbucks giftcard for my hubby. Then for dinner we buy a heart shapped pizza from Papa Murphy's and my husband lets me watch which ever chick flick I choose! I just love being with the two people I love most in the world.

    Hi Ali~
We are now a family of 5 that includes 3 little ones 5, almost 3, and 6 months. Usually we exchange small gifts and last year we did a fun little Valentine basket for each kid (only 2 of them then!) with little gifts. We also bought a heart shaped pizza for a fun kid dinner.
Nothing too exciting - but I am trying to think of a special tradition to start to make it extra special. Just not sure what that is yet!!
    :) Linda

I always make a gigantic homemade Valentine out of lovely papers, and make a special meal, served on red dishes. I usually do something edible in a heart shape, too. This will be my first Valentines Day as a wife, so I'm scheming something that will hopefully become a tradition.

We hang wax paper/crayon shaving hearts from the ceiling, exchange valentines, i make heart shaped pancakes, sometimes we even bake heart shaped cookies or pizzas AND the "Love Bug" visits us, bringing candy and little trinkets- We leave out cute little heart shaped cloth bags to be filled. Our seven yr. old loves that we are one of the few families that the "Love Bug" still visits because we still believe in Magic [and Fairies, The Leprechaun, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy, and of course Santa].

I'm not sure if this posted twice, if it did, I'm truly sorry and if it does get picked and it's my second entry, please pick someone else:)!
I am a single girl, so I don't have a special someone. I typically just spend the day doing whatever will give me peace and a good outlook about my singleness. I spend some quality time with a few of my students, playing with them at recess. It's not about what makes me feel good necessarily, but what keeps me at peace with my singleness. I typically end the day by writing in a journal I have for my future husband.

Decorating heart-shaped sugar cookies is a must every V-day for us.
We also like to leave little love notes and Valentines for each other around the house, and enjoy finding them here and there throughout the day!

Before our child, we would go out to dinner. But now we always celebrate with him (He loves Valentines day) - he's 7. We make a special dinner at home and have cards and Valentine goodie bags for each other. It's really quite fun! :)

My husband and I make a meal together, exchange cards, and spend the night snuggling on the couch, watching a movie or something else of our liking. We have celebrated this way since our first Valentine's, five years ago.

So like most girls I love Valentine's Day and I am lucky enough to have a husband that understands. I am not talking about gifts of flowers and chocolate. I am talking about sitting down with our two young girls and writing our valentines to each other. We all write little love notes and put them in our valentine boxes. Then we read them aloud. One year he participated when made valentines from construction paper, scissors and what ever else we could find. It is plain old simple fun. These are the memories I love to cherish. Thank you for letting me share this.

We celebrate valentine's a month in advance, as it's the day our relationship started. We say a prayer, spend time together telling each other what we are grateful for in each other=)

This year we are trying something different for Valentines Day. As crazy as this sounds, my girfriends and I are headed to a hotel for a SCRAPPIN weekend! None of us ever do too much for Valentines Day with our SO's. Since it falls on a long weekend we just couldn't pass it up. Why not we all LOVE to spend time together and we LOVE to scrapbook so I think it fits!

being that my parents had a very long and drawn out seperation with actual custody hearings on valentine's day.... my husband and i have opted to treat the day before- February 13 as "our" special day. we find that snuggling in a booth at our favorite resturant, listening to jazz music and having no one else around us... is so much more magical. i am so blessed to find a man who understands the pain that i went through and finds wonderful ways to make sure that i am treated so special and loved above all else. my favorite ending to the whole evening is leaving his special handmade card for him in a random space for him to find. they still bring tears to his eyes- and he still brings them to mine! i am more in love with him now than ever.

For us every year it's different depending on our work schedules-this year my husband has to work so we'll be spending the 13th together while our 5 y/o daughter is at school-with massages and lunch. Then the plan for the 14th is to take my daughter to the American Girl Doll store and bistro for lunch and just have fun together!

I begin the day with paper shape hearts on their beds and special valentine breakfast.
Each of the children also receive gift baskets filled with a stuffed animal and chocolate.
This year if we could all be together, this would be the best Valentine's ever!
    Have a great evening!

With 2 boys (4yr & 10 months) + the freezing cold weather, it so hard to go out once inside next to the fireplace. So, we are going to make our own Valentine's sundaes: chocolate ice cream, red sprinkles, & bananas.
So excited to see your new addition to the family, Ali! I was awaiting my new arrival last year at this time too. :)
    Take care.

Sweet giveaway Ali, thanks! We spend our Valentines Day delivering handmade cards to friends and family. The kids find such enjoyment out of it. And then we make dinner together as a family. The night after Valentine's day we (my husband and I) go out on a date to avoid the crowds and stressing about reservations.

My husband and I have been married for over 34 years, and have dated since I was 15, but even after four childred, 31,30,21,21, we still celebrate our first date. It is fun to remember what we did, and how things have changed since we were both that young age.

We usually haven't done much to celebrate on Valentine's Day but have taken some date days at other times. This year, though, my hubby got tickets to a college hockey game. So it will be a V-day gift we both enjoy. :)

We always celebrate the day with hearts. Chocolate hearts, paper hearts, pancake hearts, any creative way to add some extra love into our day. Our kids have a ball coming up with "heart projects" to surprise us.
