Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)

Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

I try to do this as much as I can throughout the year but Valentine's Day is the perfect day to leave little post it notes where I know my husband will be with little reminders of my love and appreciation for him. Like his side of the bathroom, his closet, his computer screen, the steering wheel in his car etc........

I hadn't really thought much about it yet. I have a 3.5 year old son and 9 month old baby girl. I have read some great suggestions so far though. Thanks for the ideas. Lyn

As kids we used to always go away and stay in a hotel for valentines day. We are starting that tradition this year with our kids. Going away for the weekend and just doing family stuff.

I like to secretly hand out little paper valentines to my co-workers...just like we used to do in elementary school. It's so much fun!

I am a second grade teacher, and after "ecouraging" my own boys to sign their own valentines, I usually spend the evening in post-sugar high crash mode. There is no bigger high than watching young read - and understand - their own valentines.

This is the first year that Bradley is hand writing his own Valentines cards. Now that he is reading and writing, I thought it would be cool!
You are so sweet to do all of these give aways. Sign me up ...pretty please. I'll give it a good home.

We have so much fun on Valentines Day. I'm so glad that it is on Sat. this year and we can celebrate as a family the whole day. If on a week-end or a day off, we start off with a "Big" breakfast and celebrate the day together. The kids get something little, like a movie or chocolate and they are so cute when they give us their cards. My husband and I then spend a nice evening together at a restaurant or we make a dinner of crab legs and steak after the kids have gone to bed.

When the girls were growing up we had so much fun making valentine cards to send to family at a distance and over the years as they grew older we started making cards for elderly people especially those who are homebound or in nursing facilities. So, now that the girls are away from home I try to continue this effort by pairing with other moms at church. We have so much fun with the 3-9 or so year old kids. And, we deliver the cards to people. So a passion for loving others just keeps on....XXXOOO

It's been just the two of us and we usually go out for a nice dinner. This year we have Alex and my husband will be out of town :( I plan on making little cards and gift bags for his little class at Gymboree. Today I bought little heart molds for chocolate lollypops. Maybe the two of us will go out for a speciall mommy and baby first Valentine.

We decorate the whole house for Valentine's Day. We also do heart shaped food that day as well. Fun! My husband has been taking my daughters out on a date night on Valentine's Day the past two years. (They are 6 and 3 years old.)It is so sweet. He comes home from work and surprises them with flowers, balloons, and chocolates for each one. They get all dressed up and go out to dinner. It is so cute. They love it! Mommy loves it too because I get a nice, quiet evening to myself while they are at dinner.

For my grown children we send them dinner out. It consists of a valentine with a restaurant gift card and money for the babysitter.
For ourselves we fix a delightful meal with red everywhere-candles, placemats, etc. and then we top it off with incredible chocolate. I can hardly wait!

I am going to make a heart-shaped egg in a hole with heart-shaped toast for my son's breakfast and then sneak in a note. He's just beginning to read and I can't wait for him to read my message.
    You've got cool giveaways!

Just now have children old enough to do something holiday related with so no traditions yet. My husband and I usually have a little bit fancier of a dinner than is normal at home. This year we will probably wait to eat together once the kids are in bed.

I love valentines day, but have not done nearly the fun ideas posted here! Such creative women! This year I plan to plan ahead and have some fun treats for the children, in addition to doing some valentines day decorating and, of course, some heart-shaped food for dinner (cake, etc.) My children all like to make cards, so I am sure that they will want to make cards for each other and for grandparents~ I love sharing my scrapping supplies with them for that!
