Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

Valentine's Day has become one of my favorite holidays because it's all about LOVE! I work in daycare and make handmade cards for each othe children and staff. I also make red velvet cupcakes to share with everyone. And for my family and friends there is always a small handmade valentine gift - heart shaped ornaments or soap, no two years are the same, along with handmade cards! There is no better gift than love and no better day to celebrate it than Feb 14!

We fix a special family dinner (depending on what we want on that night), decorate the table for the valentine's occassion, and give out our own family valentines to each other. Usually then we watch a movie and just all snuggle and hang out.....THis year we are going to try and get together some handmade valentines and mail to unexpected people (ex: elderly home) because everyone likes a valentine.....Thanks for the giveaways....Karen Loper

Usually my hubby works on V-day...thankfully not this year...so I usually celebrate with the kids...we have a nice dinner ( i let them pick) and i put out v-day linens and give them little treats. It's really sweet.

For my kids, I always have a Valentine's basket with 1 treat, 1 clothing item, 1 toy, and 1 stuffed animal. We always make cupcakes and have a special candlelight dinner together. After the kids go to bed, my husband and I usually watch a girly movie and cuddle. However, this year my husband will be in Iraq so we will have to celebrate in July. Thank you so much for the wonderful giveaways!

    Hi Ali:
Used to be Valentine's Day was a nice day, with cards and flowers, but the day before is my DS' birthday. I remember going to the hospital in labor and everyone saying that if the delivery is the next day, I'd have a Valentine's baby. Well, that sounded so neat! Of course, as the labor progressed, the red hearts on his birthday didn't seem as necessary! LOL! Now we do a family celebration for Valentine's Day, but my DS thinks everyone has a 2-day birthday! He's only 3, but, of course, RED is his favorite color!

I like to make Valentine's for my boys and their classes at school. Together, we usually make some Valentine's cookies, and on the morning of Valentine's day I make them pink heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast.

On Valentine's Day, our tradition is to exchange cards with each person in the family, and my husband and I go to lunch together to avoid the evening crowds.

wow, that is A LOT of stuff!
It's not very recent, but I always made my dad a card. Usually out of construction paper with glue and glitter and pictures of my brother and I. I always put the same corny little poem inside for my dad. Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, You love me, and I love you too. I know.....lol Not very original, but dad liked it...lol

We don't have a specific thing that we do every Valentine's Day. I just do something special for my husband and kids to remind them that they are loved.

We got tired of fighting the V-day restaurant crowds and wanted to be home to celebrate with our kids. Now I make fondue for dinner and we eat the entire meal in little peices dipped in cheese. I make hubby a candy bar poster to go with his gift and the kids make valentines for each other. A fun day I look forward too!

Valentine's Day is all about celebrating the most important men in my life, my three son's:) Gotta love that phrase, it always makes me giggle:) I get them a card and candy, the typical presents, and shower them with love and kisses. Thanks:)

There's a lot of things you can do on Valentine's Day that are fun....,
But in the end I like to just be sure all my kids and husband know how much I love them, how important they are to me and how much it means to have them in my life. Words...thats what counts on the Day to show your love. In the end words are so very important in the word we live in now.
