Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

We celebrate Valentine's day pretty much like any other holiday, with lots of "Food". Any excuse I can get to bake..LOL! This year in addition to goodies, We are doing the 14 days of love. I have been picking out goodies for my kids and hubby for the last month or so. I just need to finish the tags. Each day their gift will have a tag with a word and a description about what I love about each of them. Fun, Fun!

You find the most interesting things to give away. I haven't thought much about Valentine's Day yet. My daughter's daycare is having a Valentine's Day art show. We will go to the show and them maybe have a special treat. And of course we will spend the week before Valentine's Day making some cute little cards for her classmates.

i love celebrating valentines day! we celebrate by going to our churches sweethearts supper, where an elder couple or our pastor couple will share how they met and fell in love. we often have a themed event like mexican or italian, and my husband and i really enjoy this happy evening. if we can't make it to that, i'll prepare a special meal at home, and have our place decorated in red, pink and white, while my hb often suprised me with a thoughtful gift. as our children will get older, i have plans on having fun candlelight dinners with them, and making special cards for each other. looking forward to vday once again! :)

I always try to get a little something special for each of my girls (five of them!)...a stuffed animal, a little candy, and a lovey card from mom and dad. Might do heart shaped pancakes this year!

I usually make up simple...cute little baskets for my daughters who are 3 and 7. I put them on the kitchen table, so they see them in the morning when they get up and have breakfast. Just a little surprise for them.

Well in advance (ha, ha) we create homemade photo Valentines to give to friends and loved ones. On Valentine's Day we usually eat pizza and share good family time, usually with my nephew who celebrates his birthday on this day. Later, when the kids are tucked in, my husband and I share a box of Mrs. Cavanaugh's chocolates and a Diet Coke along with a chic flick. He makes me happy! Thanks for the giveaway!!

My husband usually makes my lunch and leaves a sweet note. Then, I get caught off-guard at work when I open my lunch bag to see the nice note and very yummy lunch.
In the evening, we spend some quiet time together.

My husband and I don't usually do anything for Valentine's, but now that we have kids, we really like sharing the marshmallow hearts. They're made by the same people who make the marshmallow peeps in the spring, and we love any chance to enjoy those!

This is the first time in 13 years that my husband, who is a police officer, will be off. In addition, my father has relocated and ia always willing to watch the boys. However, my father-in-law just emailed my husband and asked if he can have a suprise birthday party for his wife at out house on Valentines night. I guess there's always next year:)

We keep things pretty low-key around here for Valentine's Day, especially since they raise the prices on everything (flowers, candy, etc.) This year I might give my husband a heart attack - cover the whole house in paper hearts :)

I love celebrating Valentine's Day. And it is extra special to me because that is the day my youngest daughter was born. The whole house is decorated and when my husband and two girls come down for breastfast their is a card telling them why I love them and a little gift for everyone. And because it's my daughter's birthday we have a birthday dinner with all of our family members to celebrate Valentine's day and Sara's birthday.

When I was younger my parents would always send me flowers to school. It made me feel like I was super special. So now that I have a Goddaughter to spoil, I send her flowers. I can remember the first time she was really old enough to realize how cool it was to get them. She called me and told me that I was the best! I know I will carry this tradition on with my children.

We usually just have a quiet evening together. Make dinner with my hubby and bring out candies and snuggling bears for my kids. I always make or buy a little something for my family every year.

My husband, 18 month old son & I don't have V-day traditions yet...why? well for the past 2 years that my husband and I have been married he has been gone on v-day the first year I was pregnant and he had an Army school to go to in VA (we live in Maine) and this past year he was deployed to Iraq. He returned home Jan. 1 and so far it has been one big love story with the 3 of us being a family. I can't wait to officially "start" some V-day traditions!! :)

making decorated valentine boxes for valentine's day cards has always been a big tradition in our family. we make them from different boxes we find around the house. (the cylinder shaped oatmeal ones are the best!) we've made robots, houses, and just "pretty" ones. each year they are different.
