Sponsor Giveaways | The Mother Load, Summer Card Camp 2011

GIVEAWAY | One person will receive a spot in Lain Ehmann's upcoming 13-week online class at Big Picture Classes: The Mother LOAD: A Scrapbook Marathon

SPECIAL OFFER | In addition to receive $20 off of The Mother LOAD use code: load2011

Are you a marathon scrapbooker? Do you want to be? As crazy as it may sound, scrapbookers have a lot in common with runners. Both can run into the same problems – lack of time, isolation, a routine that has become more of a drudgery than a help. The good news? You can easily overcome these obstacles.

No, Lain won’t make you run 26.2 miles in just a few hours – but she will challenge you to scrapbook 26 layouts in 26 days! Through The Mother LOAD - A Scrapbook Marathon, part of the 4Experts series for 2011, Lain will show you how committing to making scrapbooking a priority in your life will help you:

  • Scrapbook faster

  • Love your pages more

  • Actually USE your stash

  • Connect with what you love best about this hobby of ours

The first two months of class will be spent on “basic training” to increase your stamina, refine your process, and get you mentally and physically ready for the ultimate challenge: creating a layout a day for the first 26 days of September. After you cross the finish line, there will be time for reflection – and celebration!

For more information, and to register, please visit The Mother LOAD.

I would love to win a spot in the cards class. It is much harder for me to create in the summer and the inspiration will be welcomed. I have been inspired by the many gorgeous boards on pinterest.

I've been eyeing the Summer Card Camp so I'm excited for the chance to win a spot. This week I was inspired by the sun! It's been awhile since we've had any and it got me moving - cleaning my patio, taking pictures of the results, organizing my work room, etc. Now I'm ready to create! :-)

What inspired me was not something I can link to but it was suit shopping for my boyfriend's university graduation. Seeing the color combos of shirts and ties inspired me to make suit jackets as fathers day cards :) with cute patterned paper ties!!!

This week I have been inspired by my SIL. She died of cancer 8 days ago and in helping my husband's family prepare for her funeral & deal with her personal belongings, I have been inspired by the contribution she made.I have also realized the how important it is to focus. Our world offers us so many opportunities and I sometimes find myself wanting to do so many things (way too many, my DH would say) and not completing the most important. On one of the last days of her life, my SIL told us she just thought she had more time. I suspect many of us would say that. I think she helped my choose my OWL for 2012...focus.

Kind of a long comment. I think it needs to be in my journal but maybe it will make somebody choose a little differently.

Thanks for the giveaways...giving serious thought to LOAD-lots of stories swirling around after the last few months.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your thoughtful words today will touch others...they touched me! Guilty as well, your word reminded me that I chose one back when it was first discussed, "presence" and it is too easy to forget that in the day to day business. I keep trying to get it all done, which as we all know is impossible. I look at my 4 young children and think how much your word is so intertwined with that which I chose. Focus...presence. I can't imagine being faced with the notion that I've only got so much time left, but really, we are all dying and it is so easy to just get lost in the day to day stuff that is not really important and when you look at the years slipping by, that time is just gone. Thank you for your reminder today that regardless if our time left here is only weeks, or 50 years, that we need to concentrate on what really matters. Thank you and though I don't know you, my prayers are with you for your terrible loss...

I am meant to be a scrapbooker using up my scraps to make fantastic cards. I have an addiction to paper, I buy it but can't bring myself to use it, so no pages or cards are made. These classes sound what I need to kick me in to shape. I love http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/ for inspirational simple cards. Now I just have to make them.
