My favorite part is the pictures - taking them, watching my kids take them and in turn going back and seeing what we did.

My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is to emake sure that I document my teen and all the "in stuff". It's so cool to reflect on the differences from when I was a teen. I have VERY few pics of me from this time period and I really wish I had more. They are the most formative years and I think it is important and he will really treasure these, as I would if I had more pics and memories written down. Plus.. those teen boys RUN from the camera! Hey Ali!

My favorite part of this whole thing... I love looking back at older pictures and just reminiscing! It is great to look through older layouts or pulling out older pictures to create a new page. Love seeing my little girl grow up :) It just makes my day! Thanks Ali for the great giveaway!

I think that right now my favorite thing is the creative outlet that it gives me. I'm not generally artistic, but I love being able to record my memories and have a creative way to use my photos. It may not seem like a memory-keeping project at the time, but when I look back at what I've made it becomes that for me.

The reason I am memory keeping right now is that dad died on Christmas Day last year and I don't want his stories to die with him. I want and need to get them down on paper so our future generations will know what kind of man he was and what kind of family we are, without ever having to guess. That's my driving force at the moment.

Right now my favorite thing is recording each "first" and nuance of my 1-year-old's daily life. I know that all too soon these will be erased from my memory unless I document them....like when he was a newborn, he made the cutest noise when he would suck on his "binky" and now those days seem SO far away.
For the first full year of his life, I took a picture every Friday (the day he was born) and have it all in one book. It is my fave album and I love to show it off.

scrapbooking has completely changed for me over the past few years. when I first started 6 or 7 years ago, it was a creative outlet...something fun to do with my photos. now that I have a granddaughter, it's totally become "memory keeping" and I really concentrate on the words + pictures.

My favorite thing about memory keeping is just that. It puts moments on a page or in a minibook that I would forget otherwise. My kids are growing so fast. When I go back and read the things I have written, even a year ago, I am so glad I have that snippet of time preserved. I especially love to use info from old emails I write to good out of town friends that detail the daily stuff we deal with in our families. These provide great information later that you would otherwise forget.

My favorite thing right now has to be the idea that "anything goes." There is no one way, or "right" way to record your memories. I've taken Stacy Julian's LOM, and the sense of true FREEDOM that I have in this hobby has been so relaxing, it has allowed to me fall in love all over again with scrapbooking.... Thank you too for all your contributions to this direction in our hobby!

it's a 50/50 sort of thing. i love capturing our life - the details - for our family through photography and words. it's the best to watch my children's reactions when they flip through the pages of a new album or newly designed pages. and, i love the creative outlet for myself.

    hi Ali,
What a great give away :-) My reasons for scrapbooking are simple..... I want to preserve precious memories (special events and everyday blessings) for myself and my children. I love that they can look even at their baby pages and tell the story behind the photos like they remember living it :-)

My favorite thing right now is that my oldest child just turned 12 and has the longest legs you've ever seen and just yesterday she was the chubbiest little baby ever with the pork choppiest little legs and although I don't know where all the time went, I do have bits and pieces of her life tucked away in little books with pictures and words to help me remember :)

I'm a scrapbooker. My favorite part of it is taking little souvenirs from my adventures. If it's a fun outing with friends, I take a takeout menu. These things do take up space in my house, but I love using them for scrapbooking. It just ads another personal touch and it’s fun to be creative with what I can collect.

My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is discovering the stories of my childhood. Particularily the ones that happened when I was too little to have any real memory of them.

    what a cool giveaway
    i love studio calicos kits,
My favourite thing about memory keeping at the moment is recording my life right here and right now.
    I am almost 18.
and i can't wait to be old and grey and looking back at my memories and thoughts from when I was entering adult hood.
I'm sure I will be glad to have been keeping and recording these memories 20 years from now and when I have a family of my own i am sure that they will love it now.
and...as a side note who doesn't love playing with paper and paints?
    LOL

My favorite aspect right now is a constant reminder to myself to cherish the everyday moments. It also helps me work out any parental "doubts" I might be having!

Lately my favorite thing about memory keeping is how I am inspiring others to do the same. My husband's family recently asked me to do a heritage-type album of their family Christmases over the years. Watching the relatives look at the book reminds me why I do this...memories are important and the pictures are treasures of our past.
