Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:

When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

Ali--I, too, am using your word from last year. Most importantly, I need to nurture my self more this year--body and soul--and my relationship with my husband. Seems we always put these things on the back-burner to spend time supporting our aging parents and three young children. I need to worry less about the little things and nurture the souls of my family more. I need to also nurture the many talents and strengths of my fifth grade students. This is my third year choosing a word. I have truly felt an impact on my life!

Still working on my word - but the idea will be to not sweat the small stuff and get mired in it. I am going to try and come up with a reminder that I will see when I am feeling overwhelmed.

My word this year is "free" and my action to go with this, is to let go of the to-do lists every now and again.

I have been trying to limit my word list and it has been difficult. But the word I seem to come back to is BELIEVE. The past few years have been difficult, especially 2009, so I need to Believe in myself, friendships and the future. The actions that I have been taking so far to accomplish this is a positive mental attitude, reminding myself to believe.

I've never participated in the word of the year, so this year I'm going to play and I think my word will be "evolve" -- although I haven't commit yet ;o)
My action will be to write a blog entry and journal entry about my word and how I want it to center 2010! Thanks for the push!

My word this year is ORDER, I am really desiring to get my home organized along with having more order in other aspects of my life... spiritual, physical and just more order in the routines of everyday life. I printed out the worksheet you recommended from Christine Kane's website and along with that I have purchased & begun reading 3 organizing books and am considering doing a layout about my word.

My word of the year isn't very profound; it's "water," and I've decided to stop drinking sodas and to drink more water this year.

Creativity is my word of the year and my first time doing this. My goal or action do complete this is to be more creative throughout the year. Even get my toddler involved in doing this too. To always do something artistic, even if it just coloring with some crayons on paper. My goal is to do one scrapbook layout or something related each month. To do some sort of artistic product to show off my creativity.

I'm still trying to narrow down my word for the year...but I'm thinking it is going to be "change" and just one of the actions I am challenging my self to do this year is to step out of my comfort zone...and do new things.

My word this year is OPEN. After some reflection and thought about my goals and resolutions for the New Year I know that I will need to be OPEN to accomplish them. Open to trying new things, open to asking for help when needed, open to change, open to ideas and opinions that are different than my current ones. At this point I am visuallizing it as an open door that lets the world in, while allowing the unneccessary leave unimpeded.

I'm picking the word adventure - there are lots of things I want to try - from learning to roller skate to going on a plane for the 1st time. These things are very big deals when you have to overcome fears to do them.
