Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.

In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:

When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

My word of the year is faith. Faith has carried me through some difficult years recently and I know that I have God to lean on when times are hard. One action is to read my bible more so I can learn more about what God wants from me as I live my life.

I have created 2 layouts so far for my word PERSEVERE! As I got frustrated over the past few days, I would just repeat to myself persevere and it made me feel better. I am about to go create an altered frame with my word to place on my desk at school to remind me!!! I plan on putting it everywhere to help me get through this difficult time!!! Thanks for the inspiration and the chance to win!!!

My resolution this year is to scrap more about myself. Too often, I'm making cards or pages for other people and not telling my own story.

My word for 2010 is DOCUMENT. To be honest, I thought I did not a bad job of documenting our families lives, until I took your BPS class - Yesterday and Today. I can't even put myself in the same category. I've realized that I want to look back, and REMEMBER what it was that was important in our everyday lives. Already there are things that are suddenly so out of reach. My goal is to document more, and remember more.

My action is going to be to try to be a little better everyday. Everyday is a new day and although I know I will make mistakes, I will wake up the next day and try to be better.

My word for this year is...BELIEVE. These last few years have been really emotionally draining with lots of highs and lows and I truely believe that this year is going to be better. I started a one word journal (I borrowed the idea from Stephanie) and I'm going to fill it with quotes and postitve thoughts to remind myself that I just need to believe that everything happens for a reason and that I just have to have faith that whatever it is it's all part of God's plan.

I *heart* Studio Calico! I would love that kit!
My word is the same as last year which is "organise". I'm most happy when my house and my life are organised. So the first thing I did on New years eve was to take a trip to Ikea! I'm so happy to say my daughter's room is done :) My room is next on the list!

BREATHE. 2009 - My husband lost his job, my mother in law died, my dog died. I'm stressed over bills, possible foreclosure. I just need to remind myself to stop and breathe.

Love, love, love the word of the year necklace idea! Very inspiring. I'm thinking through 2 words...commit & trust. Both require 100% from me in my relationship with God, my husband, my family....and everyone in my circle of influence.

My words were Engage and Purpose. This year I want to be more engaged and more present. I want to do things with intent and purpose. I'm starting by deciding what I really want to accomplish this year, and getting the steps in line to reach those goals.

Nurture is such a great word- this year I want to nurture my kids, my marriage, my work & myself (in no particular order). I love the idea of a family mission statement!!!
I have added more fruits into our diet- every morning, while waiting for my kettle to boil, I make a pre-breakfast snack of fresh fruit and encourage everyone to have some.

My word for the year is "me." I spend so much time at home, work, volunteering taking care of others...that this year, I need to commit to spending time on myself. To that end..I'm pursuing a career change for the next 1-3 years!

I was very attracted to your new years resolution surronding a "Word" to focus your thoughts for the new year. I feel that this will help me make a resolution that I can stick to!! I am taking my time in choosing -but I am enjoying the process of that as well! Maybe PROCESS should be my word! as always, thanks Ali!!!

My word for 2010 is PLAN. I want to incorporate all my lists and ideas and actually plan things correctly and implement many of these to simplify my life and be more organized in daily life. One thing I have done is to post weekly threads on an online community to get support and motivation to continue on this path to organize my home and family. I have plans for scrapbooking as well, so
