It's actually something we've stolen from a neighboring family...every July 4th they light fireworks (and we watch from 2 yards over) and sing the Happy Birthday song to America. It's so cute, I usually join in now and I think now that my daughter's almost 2 we might start teaching her to do it too!

The first Satuarday of the summer vacation we have a BIG cook out with barbeque with all the people on our block... It's getting bigger and bigger each year and the time people are asking me if we will have the cook out again this year is earlier each year!

My new favorite summer tradition is making jam with the kids. Today they got all the pits out of the cherries and were covered head to toe in cherry juice, but we got 3 batches out of it!

We roast marshmallows and make s'mores at my parents house. My kids love the fire-chiminea at Nana and Grampa's. We also make homemade ice cream over there too. Great summer memories.

My favorite is going to the town festival early August. Saturday it's the outdoor-marked in the main street and concert at night and Sunday the childern's carnival-parade and entertainment. Last year was the first time I didn't attend but I was in hospital giving birth to my beautiful daughter.

One of our favorite summer traditions is celebrating the 4th of July with the family. EVERY year, we go to the parade, then to our favorite restaurant, then to the park, then have a BBQ, and then we watch fireworks. It's a busy day, but SO MUCH FUN! I look forward to it every year.

Getting out the paddling pool and crazy daisy. The weather hasn't been the best the past couple of years so it really is a case of if the sun is shining we seize the moment. The littlies love it!

My favorite summer tradition is going to the San Diego County Fair (Del Mar Fair). I haven't missed one since I can remember and I'm 33 years old! It's huge and your feet ache by the time you're done for the night, but it's such a wonderful day filled with sweets and treats of all kinds. Happy Summer to everyone!
