GIVEAWAY | Three people will receive spots in Mary Ann Moss's online class Remains Of The Day.
Remains Of The Day is the antidote for all of those paper scraps that keep multiplying in your favorite scrap box and clogging up your artistic super highway. In this process AND project oriented class we’ll be constructing a shabby but sturdy journal (like this one) using all of that paper you’ve been hoarding. Ordinary life never looked better than seen through the pages of this stitched up journal of scraps.

Spring cleaning tip: Avoid if at all possible. I would love to win this class. I am more of a structured scrapper and it would definatly challenge me to make something like this. Thanks for the chance to win.

Make a big pitcher of fresh lemonade to keep you hydrated and energized while you clean. I'm so excited that you are offering the class from Mary Ann - it's been so fun reading her posts about Paris. I'd love to take this class and use up some of my paper hoard!

Remember that woman in the (very old) commercial who says "I HATE housework but I LOVE a clean house"? Well, that's me. So... I tackle one room at a time, one per day (and not necessarlily consecutive days, either), top to bottom, walls, window coverings, everything! I get a real sense of satisfaction as each room is completed and find myself motivated (me? anxious to clean? REALLY?) to move on to the next room. Thankfully, spring only arrives once each year. :-)

My tip is to do a little bit every day and not everything at once, one room at a time, one cabinet at a time if there are to much. thanks for the chance to win a spot to this wonderful class!

My favorite spring cleaning task is "purging"...all the stuff that hasn't been used or I don't love that just seems to be cluttering my space!....and give it all away...

My spring cleaning tip is to simplify your belongings...then there is not so much to clean.

In my workroom, I keep two paper bags. One is for my grand daughter, who loves making cards and scrapbooking as much as I do; the other for a group of mom's that makes cards with kids with disabilities. When the bags are full, they go off to their respective new homes. Once in the bag, I never look back. Helps me keep things I will really work with, my scrap pile down to a manageable size, and not feel guilty about passing things on. I know the "stuff" makes someone happy as they unpack the bags/boxes.

Always try to have at least one room in the house clean... for your mental sanity! I really wish I could stick to this one right now! I need some mental sanity!

As you go through your house, thunk about each item and if you haven't used it in the last 12 months, you probably wouldn't have remembered you had it anymore if the need had come up so you may as well get rid of it.

In my closet if I have something that has not been used in six months, unless is a special occasion piece it's gone to charity. I live in PR so basically I use the same clothes all year round. I use the same rule for every closet in order to avoid hoarding things unnecessarily.
Thanks for the cahnce to win.

Opening up all the windows and screen door and let the fresh air circulate thru the house. The crispness of the morning air is the best it gets me moving

Setting a goal for cleaning the one area, room, closet or drawer that if it were cleaned or organized would add ease and joy to your daily life and/or creative adventures.
Set a timer for a working session each day or each week and do something fun as you finish your cleaning time.
Look for the joy in the process.

My favorite spring cleaning tip? DON't Do It! Ha! I am just not a cleaner. There are so many other things I want to do. BUT last year I did wash all the walls for the first time since we lived here (almost 10 years)...and ICK. I am glad I did it. Okay...my best tip? Open the windows and let the spring air do it's magic after a long winter in Maine.
Thanks!
Denise

If you haven't used it since the last time you did spring cleaning, it's time for it to go!

I always open the windows and air out the house. This class looks like so much fun.

I take one room a week. I am less overwhelmed and can focus all of my energy on the one room without feeling like I have to have the entire house cleaned out in a week. This way, I also do not feel like I am neglecting my toddler. And as a pregnant mother, I am not making myself work harder than is good for me and baby.

...I try to get everything cleaned on a regular basis, and every time I do the normal stuff..I add an "extra"
But one thing I especially like to do for spring is cleaning all the windows and let the light flow in!!

One room at a time and work in a circle around the room. Do everything in front of you and not jump around the room. You need to have a bucket with everything in it that you will need.
Sounds strange but it really works.
Thanks for a chance to win

I hate cleaning and decluttering too-but music, sunshine and fresh air helps. By the way, the class looks amazing:)

Take a long handled fuzzy duster and dust the walls and windows, especially behind the curtains. Make sure to change the air filters after this. I don't know where the dust comes from. This sounds like a great class.

I would love to win a spot in this class, scraps do tend to multiply and I would hate to toss them. Oh no!!! As to spring cleaning, I love, love, love the fresh air and then clean windows to let in the sunlight.

We are in the process of cleaning every inch of our house in order to sell it...we've been transferred to Vancouver and I can't wait. I suppose right now my favorite cleaning tip is, if you don't love it or it's not useful....get rid of it! It's all about simplifying! Oh, and a new coat of paint on anything that doesn't move, doesn't hurt either!
