If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.

Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:

Hello zig zag!

I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.

Here's a look at my process:

I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.

I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.

I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.

Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.

And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.

"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.

For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.

Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

My favorite holiday tradition is spending Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family. We exchange gifts, have a big dinner and just enjoy each others company. All of my cousins are grown and this year only half of us will be in town. I really miss those days when we were all together.

My favorite tradition is bringing out all the old decorations from years past including ones that were on my tree as a little girl and a couple that were on my mom's tree as a little girl.

my favorite holiday tradition started by accident. my 2 kids take alternate years reading the night before christmas. On christmas eve about 10 years ago, come christmas time, I would not be able to find the book, so the tradition came that each year we would buy a new illustrated version of The Night Before Christmas. Each year, the child who reads it, makes some notations of the year and who read it and who was in attendance of the reading. Being over 10 years now, it's getting harder to find different illustrators!

I love the background cling stamps from Hero arts and love how you used it on the scrap page...a simple way to add so much detail and texture.

In our family, our Christmas dinner always included Yorkshire Pudding. I have many fond memories of fallen pudding and wondering what ingredient (there are only 4) that got left out to ruin it. Now that my granny is gone, we've converted to making popover with their own pans and a fool proof recipe...but the tradition and the memories are still there. I take a photo to commemorate another great batch of popovers for each year's scrapbook layout! Silly...I know.

My favorite holiday tradition is baking pumpkin pies. I usually make a traditional holiday meal as well, but this year my daughters requested something less traditional - an ethnic menu. I'm excited to venture into something new & different; plus, they have volunteered to do the cooking!

My favorite tradition was making what my mom called 'surprise balls'. A cherry is wrapped in a sweet peanut butter mixture and dipped in chocolate and then nuts. They are very labour intensive but we made them together. We then would place them on cookie sheets in neat little rows and put them in our cold storage.
I used to go downstairs and sneakily eat some before Xmas . The trick was to eat a whole row and space them out so my mom wouldn't notice any were missing. I only confessed this to my mom recently, twenty years after the fact.
    Great memories.

what a great layout! when I first saw that stamp it didn't really catch my interest, but it looks great!

I would have to say my favorite holiday tradition is Christmas morning when all the kids and their spouses come over to open gifts and we have a huge breakfast to kick off the day. this year will be even more special with my 1 year old grandson.

We are a family of pranksters so, the holidays are always full of laughter! One of my favorite memories happened when my Dad realized I was under the tree trying to figure out what my presents were (which was a huge NO, NO). He decdided to take all of my presents and add things to them like bricks, pennies, plastic bags and kitchen towels (my mom thought she was going crazy couldn't find the towels for over 3 weeks). By the time I got to open the presents I was so confused as to what was in the packages......The surprise was worth it! I love my family and enjoy the laughter that comes from our love.
