Welcome to the 2012 Hero Arts Catalog Blog Hop!

GIVEAWAY | Three people will each receive three new stamps from Hero Arts new 2012 catalog.

Here's two of the three sets of stamps that I'll be giving away:

Also, Hero Arts will also be giving away five prize packs that include brand new 2012 Catalog stamps. The five winners will be randomly chosen from ALL of the blog hop comments received by midnight PST on Monday, December 12, and will be announced on the Hero Arts blog shortly thereafter.

All the new stamps will be available on December 10th. Check out HeroArts.com for a store near you.

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.

Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:

Hello zig zag!

I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.

Here's a look at my process:

I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.

I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.

I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.

Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.

And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.

"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.

For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.

Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

You have several of my favorite stamps from this release in your hands! Love the way you used the chevrons on the layout. My favorite holiday tradition is attending the 11:00 pm service at our church. It's always a beautiful service and when we leave it's Christmas!

Oh wow - now that is my kind of scrap-page. So clean and simple. Anna is really the star of this one :)

My favourite holiday tradition is waking up to my usually Grinchy husband wishing me a wonderful Xmas. Then we have a special private gift-giving in PJ's session. Just lovely.

My favorite holiday tradition is baking all of the treats that we only ever make at Christmas time :) I also love that we make a HUGE seafood chowder and biscuits for Christmas dinner - the turkey dinner comes later in the week. I love that our Christmas day is relaxing and simple and not as rushed as it was when I was a kid. It allows me to watch my kids play and just be together as a family instead of slaving away in the kitchen all day.

Even though we do not celebrate Christmas, every year after Thanksgiving we make it a point to buy our 8 year old son the Hess Truck that comes out only for the season. Now he has 4 collections of the same.

So hard to choose a favorite holiday tradition...I guess it would have to be the tree...going as a family to pick one out, cut it down, bring it home, put it up and decorate! It usually happens over the course of the week, but the excitement is palpable and it just sets the whole holiday off and running! Thanks for a chance to win some great prizes!! Alos, I love your lo!! I also love that you share so much of your process. Thanks much and Merry Christmas!

I love that zigzag stamp! My favorite thing to do around the holidays is decorate. I collect Santas so every year, when I pull them out and unwrap them, it's like looking at them for the first time. I enjoy transforming my home with all the decorations.
