I carry a small plain paper journal in my purse every where I go. When my two terrific kiddos say something that makes me smile, I have the paper and pen at the ready to quickly jot it down. I've been doing this for the last 3 years or so. Now, every time my son or daughter do something that makes me laugh, they say, "Are you going to write that down in your journal?" They even remind me to write it down! And they love looking back and their funny statements and things I've written down about them.

I must admit, journaling is the most challenging part of a layout for me...but I'm working at it! I've gleamed a lot of tips from you...one of my favorites is repeating the start of a sentence, like 'today you...'. Keeping it simple is really helpful to me when fitting journaling into my layouts.

a trick for journalling a lo...I usually plan for a space on the lo, and then in the middle of paper, ink, and bling, I stop, write out what I want to say for the lo and then get back to designing. It helps me to be surrounded by the pics and embellishments to get out what I want to say - it doesn't seem to work as well for me to journal before or after...

My idea is even to make sure and keep a journal all the time so that when you actually go to scrap your photos you can look in your journal to remember details, dates, times, etc. instead of racking your brain to try and remember something that was six months back.
