Unravelling4

This weekend I would like to first introduce you to Susannah Conway. She is a photographer, writer and workshop leader who lives in south-west England. Her beautiful and inspiring blog can be found here.

Susannah is giving away two things this weekend:

( 1 ) One person will receive an 8x8 inch fine art photograph of winner's choice from Susannah's Etsy store. They will also receive a set of Cupcake postcards.

( 2 ) One person will receive a spot in her late summer Unravelling: Ways of Seeing Myself online workshop. According to Susannah:

These definitely won’t be self-portraits in the traditional sense – we’ll be using the camera as a tool to unlock how we see not only ourselves but also the world we live in, including the immediate surrounds of our homes, places of work and our friends and family.

Check out the complete course outline here. The late summer session starts Monday July 13th and runs for 8 weeks. A fall session will also begin in late September. Testimonials of other's experiences in this workshop are located here.

Clickinmoms

Our third giveaway this weekend comes from Clickin Moms who recently did a redesign of their website for a lovely new look.

One person will receive a one-year membership to Clickin Moms.

From their homepage:

We are a community of women who have a passion for photography. Some
of us are amateur photographers who just want to take better pictures
of our family, some of us are hobbyists, and some of us are seasoned
pros.

We learn from each other and help each
other. We have all types of cameras, from DSLR's, to small point and
shoots, so anyone can jump in!
This is a safe
place to share your photos and chat about photography.

Our forums and
galleries are closed to non-members. All members must register through
this site and Paypal, which makes it a more secure place than some of
the free photo sites.

Our site features great
and easy to understand tutorials, lessons and challenges. All of the
contributions are from fellow members who are more than happy to help
and give advice to one another.
We pay back our
members who contribute.

We offer substancial affiliate commissions and
cash/ prize rewards for members who contribute and participate. In
fact, more than half of the profits go right back to our members.

It's also a great bunch of women (and a few brave men!) that enjoy
hanging out with people that have a common passion - photography!

My fave photo is one I took a couple weeks ago of my daughters and husband. It is on my blog if you would like to check it out. My 2 year old was sharing a flower with her little sister and I was lucky enough to have my camera out at that time.

My most recent favorite photo is of late spring flowers in that magic glow of first morning sunlight--lupines in pinks and purples with cream irises behind.

Those are beautiful. And for favourite photo, my mum just snapped a photo of me holding my youngest in the sling. I like it because I am so very rarely IN the photos (Mums unite!) and she captured a tender moment where I am looking down at him and his hand is on my face.

My most favorite recent photo is sitting right at my desk... It's a picture of my son on Easter just after he found his Easter basket hidden in the dryer. There was a treasure hunt and that was the final resting stop. The camera caught his emotion at just the exact second.

This photo is of my daughter and her best friend playing at the par. They are one month apart and have done everything together. We did a little "photo shoot" the last day of Preschool. (I am so NOT a professional... but would love to learn how to be) They will be attending separate Kindergartens, it is sad but exciting at the same time. We did our best to capture them as they are right now before all these changes happen.

My favorite recent photo is from a photo session we did at a local park earlier in the year. We went late afternoon and the clouds in the sky made for a great sunset over the lake in the park. My husband and I are dark silhouettes against the sunset and it looks great. I have the picture on my blog header.

My favorite photo is one I took of my son when he was about two. It was winter and cold so he was wearing a furry parka and literally dancing on the sidewalk. It always makes me happy just to see the joy on his face and in his body language.

My most recent favorite photo is one of my husband laughing. He wasn't aware teh photo was being taken, and his dimples look amazing! Ten years together and just his simple smile still makes me happy!

My favorite recent photo is of my god-son's 13th birthday - the look on his face when he discovered his present from everyone - a full drum kit. Just pure shock and joy on his face. :) Love it!

We lived in El Paso, TX when my daughter was a baby & my son was 4. One spring the mountainside exploded in wild poppies because of all the rain. We have a gorgeous picture of my two loves in the poppies. I adore this picture. I wish I could share it but my scanner isn't working :(

I took this picture a few days ago of one of my dogs, Ozzie. He is the sweetest boy ever. He is a rescue dog my son got from a shelter in Iowa back in 2005. He has some health issues, with his back legs, but he is such a lovey. I love the way his face looks in the picture. One of me looking down and his sweet eyes looking up. This is the gentle hopeful look I get everytime I see him and he just makes me happy. I like having my toes sneak in the picture because it reminds me to appreciate those smaller moments that make me smile.

One of my recent favorites that I was really excited about can be found here: http://alifesosimple.blogspot.com/2009/05/spring-pictures.html It's of a dandelion. While I don't appreciate them invading our lawn they are one of my favorite things to photograph. I'm always striving for the perfect macro shot of them and this year I finally got one!

My recent favorite photo is of my daughter at my neice's first birthday party. It's one of those photos where the smile is so genuine (which sometimes you get some pretty fake ones from a 4 year old) and the light is perfect. She's in the arm of her daddy and is in a very happy place. It's priceless.

    Great giveaways Ali -
Took Candice's Portrait class, and even though my portraits are a bit non-traditional - happy with these 3 for my final portfolio.
