Unravelling4

This weekend I would like to first introduce you to Susannah Conway. She is a photographer, writer and workshop leader who lives in south-west England. Her beautiful and inspiring blog can be found here.

Susannah is giving away two things this weekend:

( 1 ) One person will receive an 8x8 inch fine art photograph of winner's choice from Susannah's Etsy store. They will also receive a set of Cupcake postcards.

( 2 ) One person will receive a spot in her late summer Unravelling: Ways of Seeing Myself online workshop. According to Susannah:

These definitely won’t be self-portraits in the traditional sense – we’ll be using the camera as a tool to unlock how we see not only ourselves but also the world we live in, including the immediate surrounds of our homes, places of work and our friends and family.

Check out the complete course outline here. The late summer session starts Monday July 13th and runs for 8 weeks. A fall session will also begin in late September. Testimonials of other's experiences in this workshop are located here.

Clickinmoms

Our third giveaway this weekend comes from Clickin Moms who recently did a redesign of their website for a lovely new look.

One person will receive a one-year membership to Clickin Moms.

From their homepage:

We are a community of women who have a passion for photography. Some
of us are amateur photographers who just want to take better pictures
of our family, some of us are hobbyists, and some of us are seasoned
pros.

We learn from each other and help each
other. We have all types of cameras, from DSLR's, to small point and
shoots, so anyone can jump in!
This is a safe
place to share your photos and chat about photography.

Our forums and
galleries are closed to non-members. All members must register through
this site and Paypal, which makes it a more secure place than some of
the free photo sites.

Our site features great
and easy to understand tutorials, lessons and challenges. All of the
contributions are from fellow members who are more than happy to help
and give advice to one another.
We pay back our
members who contribute.

We offer substancial affiliate commissions and
cash/ prize rewards for members who contribute and participate. In
fact, more than half of the profits go right back to our members.

It's also a great bunch of women (and a few brave men!) that enjoy
hanging out with people that have a common passion - photography!

such fun giveaways, as always. My favorite pictures recently were some candid shots I took of my sister laughing. She's having a tough time right now, so I'm glad I could capture a few moments of joy!

My most recent favorite photo would have to be a portraits I took of my friends son. He's so cute!

My current fav pic was not taken by me. My DS had some photos taken for graduation and we had the photographer come to our farm and get pics in the old wooden barn with all quirky stuff. No cobwebs were cleaned out or anything rearranged. They are gorgeous! And he was so comfy being surrounded by every day life. My little guy is all grown up and looks amazing! :)

It's not really recent, but I just love this photo

I was just playing around with the camera and was stunned by the perfect reflection of my bedroom window in my pupil, and the whole idea of the window within (eyes are a window to the soul)

Two recent favorites--my niece feeding my mom a cheerio. It captures my niece's playful spirit and a really genuine interaction between grandmother and granddaughter.
And the other is of my husband and his group of guy friends. We had a joint birthday party for my husband and brother-in-law, and all the guys went out and smoked cigars in our back yard. So I grabbed a group shot of the guys with their cigars and beers around the grill. It was somewhat staged, but they were all joking as I shot some photos, so they've got great expressions.

My favorite photo recently (if I have to pick just one:) is a photo of my son. He is 15 and gets tired of me always taking pictures of him and we were on vacation when I snapped a shot of him trying to get away. It is blurry in the background and he is smiling and it just makes me happy.

It made me realise how much I am always taking photos, kids are such mimics... here is a link... http://snappyfriends.blogspot.com/2009/05/snappy-friends-next-generation.html
The next is a long time fav of mine a series I took after a huge storm had been through. They are of the sunset over the lake.... http://quiltparadise.blogspot.com/2008/02/after-storm.html

Ali, all three giveaways look fantastic! I haven't been doing much with my camera lately, so I am sharing a picture that I took last October at a state park in Minnesota. It's a close-up of two mushrooms on the side of a tree and can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23219756@N03/3643954611/
Thanks for the opportunity to be included in the drawings!

Every since my kids were babies, I take a picture of them wearing the same clothes to see how much they've grown. I dress my daughter in one of my dresses and my son in my husband's shirt and tie. It's so cool to see how every year the clothes are beginning to fit them more and more.

The first picture of my 3 boys returning home from Spring Football; dirty, sweaty and tired, but TOGETHER!
This is the one and only year they will all proudly wear maroon and represent FHS! My heart grew 3 sizes to see them all get out of the car carrying their helmets with huge grins on their face!

Taken at the end of May - my favorite photo is of my 5 month old son (then) sitting in a chair with his grandpa reading to him - you mainly see my little boy looking intently at the book.

Wow... what awesome sponsors you have Ali.
I took a photo recently of my baby boy. It was a quiet weekend, and we were all down with a stomach virus. Late one evening as I was relaxing in my sofa chair, he walked up, and didn't say anything. He was not his usual rambunctious self as a result of being sick, but he was satisfied being in the presence of his Mommy. I snapped this photo of him in the low light.

    Hi -
My favorite photo right now is one taken this week of my 2 yr. old at our Lincoln Children's Museum. He has the biggest eyes in the photo and he's standing in a tree, so he looks just like a hoot owl.
    It can be seen here.....

One of my favorite photographs is one I took in Greece of a red door in an alleyway. I loved the lighting and the deep red color against the granite of the buildings lining the alleyway.

My husband and I are currently working and living in Singapore, FAR away from our family in the States. My recent favorite photo is of our 3 month old son pushing up off his tummy to say hello his Nana in California while we were on skype. I posted the picture on the homepage of our family website: www.rogerskampung.com
