When I was younger my grandmother used to take me to enchanted forest. It was a fairytale themed amusement park. I have some of the best memories from there. Now it is shut down and parts have been desroyed. A local farm has started fixing some of the displays. Now I get to share it with my kids.

I remember the summers of being "free"...running from one backyard to the other, riding bikes all over the neighborhood, playing kickball in the street, until someone's mom called them home. Unfortunately, my kids don't have the same freedom that I had, but I try hard to allow them to feel "free" in different (and safe!) ways.
    Fun to think about...thanks!

My favourite childhood summer memory is sitting on the step outside my house eating either an ice cream, or a popsicle when it was really hot out.

We had a sandbox made out of a big tractor tire that was under a willow tree. We spent many, many hours when we were little playing in the sandbox or swinging on the willow branches (the swinging could only occur when mom wasn't watching!).

My favorite childhood memory is when our family would spend the weekend at the bay. We would play in the water, take walks, play games and make new friends.

My favorite childhood memory was spending time with my Nana and PopPop. I was lucky because they lived with us so they were a daily part of our lives and went on all vacations with us.

My favorite memory is going to the river and boating every Sunday after church. I loved to ride in the front of the boat like I was the princess of the boat and I loved watching my Daddy water-ski--I thought he was the best. Wait--I still think he is the best:) Thanks for asking the question--it made me smile to think about it.

Having summer cookouts at my grandparents house. They had a big yard and a pool, and my grandmother always got us jello pudding pops.

There are so many favorite memories of summer. I guess the one that sticks in head is swimming every day. Those were the times!

Growing up we always spent our weekends and one or two weeks a summer at our family's lake house. Now that we are grown up, we still spend our summers there, but now with our own kids. Great memories to scrap.

I remember playing with my best friend...we met when we were six and did all sorts of crazy things together. One thing I most remember, tying our legs together (three-legged race style) to attempt a Guinness World Record. I think we went about 11 hours before realizing we'd have to go to the bathroom at some point. That's where we drew the line!
We're still friends today, though, after 34 years!

Oh I have so many childhood memories, but my favorite is definitely playing outside and running into the lake of the dock! And swimming as much as I possibly could! I loved the water! Thank you again Ali for another opportunity to win something. Have a good day.

"Performing" shows for our neighbors--all older grandparent types with lots of dancing and singing and also creating art work for our front window at the house. My most memorable was a large picnic scene that covered the whole window complete with food and ants!
And lots of Tang--really really strong Tang!

My favourite memory is the summer my sister and our friends slept outdoors in the tent in our backyard practically every night and then spent every day swimming at the lake. If only I could be that carefree again...

Favorite summertime childhood memory - just the lazy days that included swimming, swimming and more swimming in our backyard pool. And still remember sleeping under the window fan (no A/C) and hearing that hum.

Swimming, swimming, swimming! Whether being on a summer swim team, riding my bike to the pool, having my own now, or being out on the boat, swimming and summer = fun!

My favorite childhood summer memory is waiting each day in the late afternoon for the ice cream man and the King Kong ride to visit my street. We'd listen for the chimes of the ice cream truck and the shrieks of the kids around the corner as they rode King Kong - and the anticipation would build. It was soooo fun!

weeks spent in Myrtle Beach....although we live 15 minutes apart, 40ish aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, moms, dads, kids all trek down from NY to reconnect on the beach. Our condos are all adjoining right on the ocean. We run from the sandy beach to the clearwater pool, upstairs for naps, back down to the beach, boogie boarding, bbqing, building sandcastles, playing beach olympics complete with tug o war and bubble gum bubble blowing contests....year after year, kids where do you want to go on vacation, Disney, Bermuda, California...."NO, we want to go to the beach with our cousins"!!!

Just playing and hanging out with the kids on my neighborhood...riding our bikes...playing "jacks" on the pourch of the old school house. Going to the local store and getting "penny candy" and having to be home when the street lights came on.

With very little money + 5 children, going out for ice cream was a once every 2 week treat in the summer. We would all pile into the back of the station wagon (before seat belts!) and head off down the country road for what seemed like forever then(but about 15 min) to this amazing old-faishioned ice cream stand where I would agonize over the choices. Those ice cream cones were still the best ice cream I have ever had.

AS a family with 7 children, we didn't go on fancy elaborate vacations. Instead we camped out or went to this place with cabins near the New Braunsfels River. Simple, good fun!
