One of my favorite summer memories (and still is) is when my Dad would prep our evaporative cooler. The smell of new cooler pads wafting through our house was a signal that summer had arrived!

One of my favorite childhood memories is our parents packing me and my siblings into the station wagon and driving cross country. We literally drove from Chicago to Florida and then from Florida back to San Diego, CA. Lots of good memories!

My fave memory is going on the Slip 'n Slide over and over and over again in the backyard. Simple pleasures - so much fun!

My favorite summer memory can't be narrowed down to just a single moment. However, I will say that as a whole, they all involve our family vacations. My parents always made it a point to have us go somewhere together no matter how tight money was.

my favorite childhood summer memory was probably camping with my grandparents. We would go to various places, generally near a river or lake and go fishing and cooking out by the fire.

Gosh you wouldn't think this one was so hard. I have so many favorite memories. Living in Southern California while growing up it always felt like summer. I guess I would have to say my favorite memories is the summer I met my Uncle Scott. He took a train to come and see us (my mom is his sister). I was about five years old he was the most generous, humorous, loving man I've ever met. I miss him.. Thank you for asking this question..

I don't think I have a favourite memory. I remember lots of good times though. I think the one that would stand out the most would be our annual get-together at my Nan & Pop's place. All the Aunts, Uncles & cousins would come together on one day to celebrate everyone's birthday fron throughout the year. We would play in the pool, share laughs and have some cake! Always a great day!! :)

when we were little we would get up early saturday morning and take a ride in my dad's boat down the sacramento river. we would find a private beach and spend the day there until dusk. eating dinner over a campfire as a family was the greatest thing ever.

My favorite summer time childhood memory is going to my grandparent's farm in rural Minnesota and staying for a whole WEEK. My brother and I would go stay with Grandma and Grandpa and help with chores (so much fun on the farm!) and go on picnics. They would take us fishing and to the movies, and my Grandma would always bring little Reeces Peanut Butter Cups along. Yumm! Early every morning WCCO (a local radio station) would come on with the farm report in my Grandparen't bedroom and I would go crawl in bed with them and listen to the report of hog prices, how crops were doing, etc. So much fun! I miss them so.

My favorite summer time memory is our annual week long camping trip to Hermit Island in Small Point, Maine (actually it is considered to be in Phippsburg now but I still refer to it as Small Point.) We would spend all day at the beach, take walks to the "bath tub", eat goldfish crackers and pepperidge farm cookies out of Gram's bag, eat lobster for dinner, walk down to the store for ice-cream after dinner and hang out in the Kelp Shed where the occasional guitar player would be strumming in front of the huge yellow, white, red and blue striped wall. On June 13th I rented the Kelp Shed for my wedding reception and put the band in front of that same wall, the rustic, yet classy location brought back so many memories and created so many more memories it was perfect. It was also the only nice day in Maine for the whole month of June!

It would definitely be going away to church camps every summer - some of the relationships that I developed during that time are some of the best ones I have!

My favorite childhood summertime memory is definitely all those camping trips we took. I had so much fun playing games, swimming and catching frogs. My dad made such amazing fires and my mom's cooking was yummie. There was lots of fishing, boat rides and many hours biking on all the trails! I cherish all those memories of the four of us together.

Every summer my grandparents took us in their RV to a little kiddie-amusement park a couple hours from our home. We'd spend a couple days riding all the rides and camp out in the RV at nights. We LOVED it!

My favorite would be driving from Ontario to Saskatchewan to see family. We made at least one stop at a "tourist" site every day, and got to see family at the end. Can't wait to do this when I have kids!

My favorite childhood summer memory is spending time at my great grandmother's house instead of daycare or camp. She had a garden in her backyard where she grew ALL her vegetables and I loved helping her pick, clean and cook them. I also loved helping her make her famous, yet very secretive tea cakes.

My favourite memory is going to the beach for a weekend. We stayed in a small motel close by. My dad got up early and headed into the small town to pick up breakfast for the family. It was the nicest treat to have breakfast in bed before heading out to the beach for the day.

My favorite summer childhood memory was being with my neighbor friends from sunup to sundown, making up silly dances in the front yard, playing 4 square and creating art for our art store. Our parents were typically the only customers!

... favorite summertime memory would have to be the daily exploration of the fields across the street from my childhoold home. The fields were loaded with blackberry bushes and we'd pick them for hours only to show up with a small pail full. It was clearly a case of one for the pail and five for our mouths. My mother would make an amazing pie for dessert. Mmmm!

We had a backyard above-ground pool growing up. Many of my summertime childhood memories revolve around the pool. I remember once it was so hot, we got my grandpa and grandma in the pool. That never happened!
