Saying Goodbye To Studio A
The December issue of Creating Keepsakes is the last issue for my monthly Studio A column.
Studio A debuted back in January 2006 (the first theme was scrapbooking your intentions). Each month since then I have been given the opportunity to create pages & projects that were interesting & inspiring to me at the time. Over the years CK gave me a ton of freedom to decide my own content/topics and allowed me to find & maintain my own voice in the pages of the magazine. For that gift I am extremely grateful.
I am also especially thankful to my column editor Lori Fairbanks who was always able to take what I had written and make it flow and fit the space available.
The decision to end the column was mutual; the editors and I both felt like it was time for a number of reasons. I am very thankful to CK for the opportunity and the experience. I am currently working with the magazine to gain access to the Studio A PDF's to add to the initial archive located here. I will let you know when those files are updated.
Will you still see my pages & projects in Creating Keepsakes? At this time, no (you may potentially see some feature articles from me in the future but nothing is currently scheduled).
Right now I am making plans for what's next for me. I will continue blogging. I will continue designing products for Designer Digitals and Technique Tuesday. I hope to do more online education. I will continue telling my stories and making stuff. I am looking forward to moving forward.
I am also very thankful for all of you who have read my column over the last few years and have shared your own stories with me. I love what I do and am so grateful that I get to share my passion for telling stories creatively with photos & words.
Bummer. I totally looked forward to your column. But i know how hard it is to make hard choices and make change in ones life.
I just wish you would create some more templates for Shutterfly; I've gotten more compliments on my "Everyday" book. Please make a few more!
Thanks for your style, your voice, your inspiration Ali.

I'm so sad to see that your regular column will no longer be in the C.K. magazine. It was always the 1st thing I went to in the magazine. If it's what you want then I'm happy for you, but you will be missed. When it's time to renew my subscription I'll have to decide if it's worth it anymore.

Well gosh, Ali. I hate this news. Your column is the only reason I buy CK anymore. Now I guess I'll have a few more bucks each month to buy your designs!

I just wanted to say a big thankyou for sharing your life with us. I have followed your work in CK, your blog, online classes and I have all of your books. Besides your wonderful layouts, it was the scrapping the everyday that caught my attention. You have given me the skills to look at the everday and record these small but very significant pieces of our lives. It was because of your inspiration that I started a series of classes called "Me, Myself & I Create" which I teach at my local scrabooking store, which were classes all about scrapping yourself. This has been so popular, its now run for 20months and is still growning. You will be greatly missed in the mag but understand its time to move forward and embrace a new flight. Soar high girl.

When I read this entry I felt so sad, Studio A was something I looked forward to and I will miss it very much. I am glad we will still have your blog to find inspiration, maybe that means you will be free to post more of your work. I am sure you will be successful on whatever comes next. Changes are always a good thing.

Wow. Studio A and Becky's Sketch were the first two things I always read in CK. It's also the only reason I'm still a subscriber. I'm sad to see both of you leaving.
On the other hand, I'm so glad that you will still be blogging. You are so inspiring on so many levels for me. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. I will look forward to continue supporting your creative endeavors here.

Wow, I am crushed. Your column was easily my favorite, and consistently had creative, attractive, but doable ideas. Does this mean no new books too?
Thank goodness we still have the blog! Much appreciation for all that you do and all that you share.

It's like the end of an era! Seriously. This is the only mag (and I have subscribed to many over the years) where I consistently flip to the same sectin FIRST the minute it hits my doorstep, and that has always been Studio A. BUT---totally excited about all you are doing and continue to do and every stage that is next. Would LOVE to see those PDFs soon. =) Thanks for time well spent in "Studio A." ;-)
