Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:

When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

My word is ENGAGE. I have planned time(written it into my schedule) each week to truly focus and engage with each of my family members. I also plan to only take on those classes, projects, etc that I truly participate and engage in.

my resolution - to be more in the "present" and with my kids and family. To put down the chores and errands and just be there with them. Looking forward to what 2010 holds. Melissa F.

I hope it's OK for non-US comments as well. ;)
I've picked two words since I think they sort of entwine: PRESENT and MINDFUL.
I've got a CD with exercises in how to live in the present and to be mindful - I've only listened to it twice during the three months I've got it... I will do the exercises, at least, every other day!

So...I think my word for the year will be "motivation". I need to be motivated to do the things that I want/need to get done! I have spent too much time lately being/feeling lazy and then kicking myself later for not accomplishing things. My first step is to do some form of exercise each day. It could be big or small, but at least it will force me to be active and then I will have more energy to get things accomplished!

Happy NEw Year!! I think my work is going to be MOVE and LEARN (it's okay to pick two) - and I think I decided to try one thing a day that relates to ONE or BOTH of the words- maybe today we will work with our son to LEARN his shapes?

I am not sure if this is really a word or not, but mine is *re-dedicate* - I want to re-dedicate myself to the things that are important to me... a healthy lifestyle, spending quality time with my husband, and to doing my job to the best of my ability.

My word for 2010 is complete. I am keeping a journal to capture all the things I do complete in a day. Things that are on the 'to do' list and those things that just pop up.

I'm still trying to choose between two words this year the first being "NURTURE" which I had forgotten was your word last year and the second being "ACHIEVE". I am expecting my first child in February and in addition to that little bundle there is lots in my life that could use nurturing- our home, some of my relationships with family and friends, my creativity, the pets, etc. I also have a major issue with procrastinating so I feel that achieve is a good word for motivating me to get things done. I am going to write up a plan of things I need to accomplish before the baby gets here and try to set a reasonable goal of one thing a day to finish. As I get better at not putting things off I will set my goals a little higher. Hopefully this will work. All the giveaways are fabulous, but I am especially drooling over the Memory Works Kit. Gorgeous!!!

My word for this year is PERSEVERE. We've had some challenges come to us in the past year, and although I know that things could be worse, they have been challenging none the less and it doesn't look like these challenges will be leaving us any time soon in 2010. SO, my word is PERSEVERE to help me move forward and also not forget about the stress relief that my scrapbooking brings me in the coming year!

I haven't fully settled on my word yet, but it will most likely be BALANCE. My life has gotten "out of whack" during the past year, and it's time to restore the balance before it's too late!

Resource: as in time talents energy. I pride myself on being "green" and FINALLY started a recycling process at work that is HUGE and takes much effort. Why not be green with Jill? All I have honestly done so far is plan for how my word will be implemented. Part of that plan is deciding that I WILL spend time for me and Document me. . .if I win, fine. If not this looks like a system that fits me and my lifestyle which is honestly in a state of upheaval right now. Too much information? Well, it was honestly as much for me as for Ali--who is wonderful, but she's Ali. . .no time for worrying about all the "me's" that she supports in a most wonderful way every day. This is about being honest with me and starting my "me" documentation with one little word. Thank you Ali for all you do for us.

Hello - My word for 2010 is "learning/learn." I want this year to be all about learning new things. I want to learn more about the rules of football - my hubby would love that :) I want to learn how to knit. I want to learn more procedures for my profession - I am in the emergency medical field. I want to learn how to "let things go." I want to learn more about my two cameras and use them to their fullest potential! I just want to learn!!!!

My OLW is going to be two little words... BE BRAVE... I am going to take a really tough class at my local Y and the only thing that has held me back from taking it is Fear. I also want to pursue my photography passion... take a class, say yes when people ask me to take their photos... Be Brave! Fear will not hold me back this year because I will BE BRAVE!

My word for the year is COMPLETION. I've got so many things in the hopper right now that getting any one of them actually *done* is a feat in itself. (2009 was *so* fired.) :) Today, I took the biggest of the UnDones and made a list, picked the (seemingly) hardest thing from it, and did it. (And, probably not surprisingly, it took less time and effort than I thought it would. Go figure. :>)

I've proclaimed 2010 as the year of ME. Of taking care of ME, creatively, and physically.
I plan to cut my hair short and then go shorter and yes, finally taking the plunge and colouring the grey out. It's about time to get rid of the long ponytailed locks..
And I've signed up for a multitude of on-line classes with Misty Mawn, Mary Ann Moss, and Andrea Scher/Jen Lemen - all in the hopes of expaning my creative mojo in breadth and scope. Two have already started so I'm well on my way.
Thanks for the opportunity to win such awesome prizes.
    Francesca
