Hero Arts 2012 Catalog Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome to the 2012 Hero Arts Catalog Blog Hop!

GIVEAWAY | Three people will each receive three new stamps from Hero Arts new 2012 catalog.

Here's two of the three sets of stamps that I'll be giving away:

Also, Hero Arts will also be giving away five prize packs that include brand new 2012 Catalog stamps. The five winners will be randomly chosen from ALL of the blog hop comments received by midnight PST on Monday, December 12, and will be announced on the Hero Arts blog shortly thereafter.

All the new stamps will be available on December 10th. Check out HeroArts.com for a store near you.

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.

Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:

Hello zig zag!

I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.

Here's a look at my process:

I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.

I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.

I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.

Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.

And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.

"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.

For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.

Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

thanks for the chance to win! My favorite holiday tradition is riding around looking at Christms lights on a crisp night. Unfortunately we do not always have a crisp night. In New Orleans, you just never know what the weather will be. I have spent many Christmas' in shorts.

Great layout. Love Hero Arts products. My favorite Christmas tradition is making decorated sugar cookies. Everyone participates; rolls, cuts and decorate cookies even the littles. My father used to "DRESS" and deliver these special cookies when he went on visits to the local hospitals and nursing homes. We still make these cookies every Dec and think of him and this special tradition he started. Happy Holidays!

My favorite tradition is decorating gingerbread on Christmas Eve. I've been doing it with my family since I was 3-4, and now my kids get to do it with their cousins. It is one of the few traditions that has continued throughout my childhood into the next generation. I can almost smell it already!

My favorite holiday tradition is calling home on Christmas morning when all my family gathers at my parents home for breakfast and speaking to everyone at once...this year we are skyping instead so I can really be involved in the organized chaos that will be happening!

I sooo love the tradition of the kids getting $5 to go pick some craft items to make decorations to decorate their own 4 foot tree...it is theirs and they can decorate it anyway they want. BTW, LOVE the zig zag stamp!!!
