Clear Scraps Giveaway

Clearscraps

Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:

6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)

Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:

Easter1

Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?

Easter2

For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).

Easter3

Easter4

[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]

I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

These are some gorgeous albums!!! I have been putting off doing layouts for the OLW challenges. I am doing them all about me and I want to make them meaningful so I've been putting them off until I have the time to think about them thoroughly. Probably would be better off just doing the.

We recently relocated from IA to TX and I really need to scrap those move pictures, final days in IA and such. I am a bit anxious about doing this because I don't want to get sentimental and homesick. Soon I will be ready.

I've been putting off adding pages in my son's album. Lately I just haven't had the energy to sit down and concentrate on it, so I've just been trying to document things on paper. Hopefully it will all start coming back to me when I set down to put it all together :)

I have been putting off a photo album about my husband's family ranch. His father had hundreds of slides from over the years, and I went through and had them all converted to photos. I even have the albums and many embellishments. I want to do two albums with them; one for my father-in-law and one for my husband, but I just can't seem to pull it all out and work on it. I guess there are always newer pictures that I know more about. Hopefully, now that I've admitted this I will get some work done on them!

I have MANY projects that i keep putting off...but the biggest one is my DH's military album...have no clue where to start, but i do have everything in a box waiting.
I had noticed everyone was saying their wedding album is one that they were putting off. I have been married for almost 12 years and finally started working on mine, thanks to GG Laura Kurtz over at 2peas. She has an 8 week wedding class that i have been taking and i don't know if i would have gotten this far without it! We just started week 7 and i am loving my album...i can actually "see" the finished project! The worksheets are still available for download (free) if you want a great guideline for your wedding album! And all the ladies that have joined have really beautiful wedding album coming together! Either look under her garden seeds or in the Two Peas Education Board. Here's a link to a post that has her garden seed link and weeks 1-6 in them http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=2649995#23387513
    Thanks for the giveaway Ali!

I have been putting off scrapping my travel pictures from high school - I went to Italy, England, France, and Russia over various spring breaks. The main reason why I have put them off is because I want them to be perfect - with every picture in the order of where I went, with good journaling describing who and what - the only problem is, I have put it off for so long, I can't remember the names of the people in my tour group - which, of course, only adds to me not scrapping. I just need to do it - scrap something, because that is better than nothing.

My family recipe album has been on my To-Do list for several years. So far I have not been at all motivated to do it. Not sure what the obstacle is but it is one i just can't overcome. Acrylic albums? Those I love!

Just love the look of the clear albums and how you have done this one.
The layout I have not been putting of as such but finding very difficult to do is a tribute layout for a special friend who passed away last weekend.

I've been putting off a project for my nieces, ages 13 and 8. They want me to make an album of my mom/dad's wedding photos (their grandparents). I don't know where to begin or what papers to use as I'm not a vintage/heritage scrapper. All of the photos are black and white. The wedding was in 1960. Oh, where do I start? Inspire me, Ali.

My Easter photos from the last 10 years. I have so many of them and I never do them, so I have pulled them all and want to do a mini album with some of the photos to show the changes of my kids over the 10 years and the traditions. But even though I pulled the pictures I keep putting it off. I know I will love this album when I am done with it, but I am procrastinating.
Thanks for all you do to inspire and encourage.

I have been putting off finishing my husband's military album. It's difficult to find really cool military themed papers and embellishments. I would love to see more companies offer more military themes. Our soldiers definitely deserve it!!!

I've been putting off an album to document the birth of my first child. It was twelve years ago (pre scrapbooking for me) but is full of scary memories in the NICU. I don't like looking at the pictures, but it's still an important memory of when God and prayer carried our family through.

I have been putting off working on my daughter's albums for her graduation. I have all the pictures in order, but I am hesitant to start creating the pages. I even have a list of the pages I want to make and ideas and stories. I just need to make myself do it.

I have been putting off doing my nephews 1st birthday album! I have not found something that has truely inspired me to just do it! And looking at your mini clear album may just do the trick! And all the albums that I have done for the other kids were mini. So I should stick the orignal somewhat....And then maybe I would tackle my wedding album after ten years!

Gosh, I love these albums, would love to win one....I have been putting off completing my Christmas Album. I used your acrylic book idea, have everything together, but have it only 1/4 complete. Good thing though, since there has been so many new techniques to use with the acrylic. Congrats Ali on your little baby girl. Very excited for you and your family.

The layouts I generally put off are the ones about the BIG things. The things that leave me totally exhausted and wiped out at the end of them. I find I usually need a little bit of distance from those things before I dig into making layouts about them. After all, if writing is reliving... and I'm still recovering from the experience... sometimes those pages take a while. :)

I've been putting off a mini album about me & my husband. We had our 6yr anniversary this summer and I had a wonderful simple idea to use a single picture on the right and journaling on the left with a board book but I've not attempted it because so many of our pictures are before digital and I wanted the picture to fill a 6x6 space and I'm not sure how to scan & resize them and haven't made time to search for the negatives. But , I really want to get this done even though our anniversary has passed. I want to affirm our relationship.

i have been putting off scrapbooking our move from new york to texas for 3 years now...i've scrapbooked the days before and then started 6 months later...just can't seem to get those 'life changing' months done...maybe i was so overwhelmed then that it overwhelms me to journal those crazy days of leaving all our family & friends behind to start out in a new city, new school for the 3 boys, new jobs....heres to good change even if i can't seem to scrapbook it!

Hmmmm where to start....I have a number of layouts that "need" to be done, most of which get put off due to time constraints and space constraints. The most pressing one right now would be my grandmother's 90th birthday celebration - waiting on photo print outs! (On my ever growing list of things to do...)

I have been putting off finishing our trip to Disney. I get so sidetracked with new and "fun" things to do and I have it set in my head that I need to do a BIG album for such a BIG trip. I need to get over that! Thats why I LOVE the mini albums. Tell a story quick and move on to something else. I guess it sounds like I have ADD or something!! :) Thanks for all your great creative advice and ideas. You are truly an inspiration!!

Oh, I've been putting off a lot of things... and I'm trying to accept that I'm only scrapping those photos and events that I want to scrap. I don't want to feel bad about all the things I don't scrap. But still... the album about the pregnancy with our son Hugo, who died at birth (in May 2005), is something that I really want to finish one day. I'm not sure if I'll have to force myself to do it or if I'll know when the right time has come, to deal with those memories again. I just know that it won't be easy.

I think that the biggest project that I have been putting off is my Wedding album. 5 years this year and I feel that I may not do a good enough job, but I am also determined to keep some of your "mantras" in my head and go for it. I know that regardless of the turnout, it will be cherished.
