Clear Scraps Giveaway

Clearscraps

Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:

6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)

Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:

Easter1

Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?

Easter2

For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).

Easter3

Easter4

[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]

I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I started an 8x8 album for my DH of his bike racing season...uhmm...several years ago. I've got everything I need all in one spot, I just need to sit down and finish it.

I have been putting off doing an album of all my dad's old Navy pictures. He has pictures of the 20 years he served. It's been put off because I feel it is too big a project too handle. I don't know where to start. I just got your latest book on mini albums. Though I don't think I could make a mini album (the pictures are way too big and too many), I will apply the same concept to a bigger size album. I'll just use a simple design and focus on the photos and words/stories I want to tell. Thanks for the inspiration!

I've been putting off completing my Mexico travel album that I put together ala "Ali" style before the trip. Procrastination...that's why!

I have definitely been putting off my wedding and honeymoon album. I really want to document my wedding 'right' but I think I would have more FUN with my honeymoon photos! So I haven't been doing either. I don't know if I want to do them digital or traditional or some combination. There is a lot of planning to do.

I've been wanting to do a mini-album on my struggle with a medical condition. It affected my life for 3 1/2 years due to not being able to find a doctor that was willing and able to help. I don't have too many pictures, it would be more journaling than anything, and I think that's why I'm putting it off. If I don't get to it soon, I'm not going to accurately be able to journal it much longer. Because of a surgery in February, I've finally been able to move forward and get on with my life. But it's something I definitely want to do & think about often.

I have been putting off putting together my baby's first year album. I bought and downloaded an online class featuring the easiest possible baby's first year album, but I seem to hit a mental roadblock everytime I pull out the supplies and my "class" worksheets. I have been doing individual pages, but not the concise, flowing book I really want to do. Just thinking about it now is triggering a migraine:)

I have been putting of my family vacation album. Me, my dad, and my 4 siblings had our first vacation all together this summer since we were little, about 30 years! I have about 400 photo's and it was the best time ever! I want to make one for each of us, so I think that is why I am putting it off.

I have been putting off completing my wedding and honeymoon albums. They are fun happy pictures, but embarassingly enough, I was married nine years ago, and uh, I kind of keep pushing those aside to work on more current pictures. ;-)

I have been putting off scrapping our mini-vacations this year.
This time of year is hard to get things done - everyone is readjusting to the school, soccer, scouting, homework schedules!
    Thanks!!

I have been taking pictures of everything around my house, at the twins therapists, at grandparents, you name it...I need to put together a "picture communication" booklet for my 2 1/2 yr old autistic identical twin sons. They do not speak at all yet and they use pictures to communicate what they need or want. I have put off actually putting the book together, I think mostly because it saddens me sometimes that I have not gotten to hear them say "I love you, mommy" yet. I know they will someday. I pray everyday for that moment to come...soon.

I had been putting off my Vegas minibook...but I got your cocoa daisy travel kit and checked that project off my list. Now I have my Christmas gifts to make. I have all the pics ready, supplies are lined up, but I have to get the motivation to sit down and work on them. I do this every year...get everything ready early and then I think..."Christmas is so far away, I can put this off for a little longer." Then, the week before Christmas I am working at a frantic pace to get everything done (cause you know store bought is just not the same :)) I am hoping to get some of the work done today!!! Thanks!

I have been putting off an album celebrating my relationship with my husband. We have been married for 10 years+ and together for 16! There is such a long time span that I am finding it difficult to even know where to start! Besides 1992!

I love your questions, Ali! I have been and am still putting off scrapbooking my wedding from 2002. The reason? Mostly that I'm overwhelmed and a little nervous about doing it "wrong." I know that there's not really any right or wrong way to scrapbook, and I usually do well quieting that internal critic with other projects.
But the wedding? That's big, dude. Really big.
    Maybe this year...

All the kit pages and mini book kits I buy. I just keep putting them away for that "rainy" day when I have creative block but want to create. But I know I either have to stop buying them or start making them. There's just so much that I want to make, there's so much inspiration (like your blog) that gives me so many ideas to make now.

There's a bunch of projects I've been putting off like our trips to Disneyland, Europe, Martha's Vineyard, Washington DC, etc. I just can't get myself motivated to work on these albums.

My little family, son, daughter and myself deserve an album celebrating our life after divorce. Unfortunately I have not been able to do that - yet. Afterall, my son is 23 and I have been divorced for 21 years, I only put it off for a "little bit", but we have much to celebrate and we have been so blessed and I need to document that.
Thank you for the opportunity to win the albums!

    Hi, Ali...
I've been putting off making mini albums for family members in memory of our wife, mom, grandmother (Eileen) who went to heaven on 2/11/08.
I've collected so many supplies that I almost feel paralyzed as to where to start, and I want the albums to be true to Mom's taste, which was simple and uncluttered. She wasn't a "frou-frou" sort of girl. As Mom herself said, shortly before her death,
I'm a "gatherer," - love, love, love, looking at and buying all the supplies, but then when I am sitting there looking at them, I feel overhelmed and don't know where to begin - plus the old feelings of it I can't do it perfetly, I shouldn't do it at all kick in.
I'd love to win this collection to jump start some of my efforts. I really love the clear acrylic. I think it's added a really neat dimension to stamping; thanks for the opportunity to win!
    Bsst,
    Linda
